All those features now included in the main oruxmaps version:

:beta16

-->bug correction (sog & cog)

:beta15

-->updated expiration date

:beta14

-->BETA expiration date 2014/12/01

:beta13

-->BETA expiration date 2014/08/01

:beta8

-->BETA expiration date 2014/05/01

:beta7

improved serial to USB connection

:beta6

Added initial support for USB data source.

Sorry, guys, but there are important changes to configure the data source. Now all settings are under 'settings--AIS-NMEA (nautical)':

1.-Select first your AIS-NMEA data source (IP, USB or Bluetooth)

2.-Check 'GPS location from IP/USB/BT' if the location also comes from the IP/USB/BT device.

3.-Fill the IP/BT url/adress if necessary.

4.-Start BT device, or plug USB device, if neccesary.

5.-Maps viewer, 'track' button, start the selected device.

:beta5

-->decodes sentences AIS 1,2,3,5,18,19,24

:beta4

-->added more information about vessels (from AIS data)

-->updated Mapnik url map.

:beta3 (many changes!)

-->added support to more NMEA sentences-->DBT, HDM

-->It is possible that the positioning of many boats with AIS is received. Only 500 will be painted. OM warn you that not all boats are painted with a flashing red light in the center of the map.

There are different possible combinations of connections (from where take locations and other NMEA-AIS sentences):

We need to play with:

'settings--AIS-NMEA (nautical)--AIS-NMEA over IP'.

'settings--AIS-NMEA (nautical)--AIS-NMEA IP url'.

'settings--AIS-NMEA (nautical)--AIS-NMEA BT device'.

'settings--GPS--GPS location from IP'.

'settings--GPS--GPS external BT'.

:beta1

-->removed a bug in configuration.

Because this version has specific needs, I decided to make a different version, eliminating unnecessary features of OruxMaps version.

additions:

- Support to the most useful NMEA sentences, read from wifi (configuration->AIS-NMEA) or bluetooth interface (configuration->AIS-NMEA, if you also want to use the device internal GPS for positioning, or GPS->external GPS if you want to use an unique NMEA device (positioning + other NMEA sentences)).

-> AWA, AWS, TWA, TWS, DBS

->Better support to AIS

- New dashboard controls: XTE (available as an option in Wpt. nav. mode)

- New weather maps

- Creates a new set of exclusive folders (oruxmapsea/...)

More features coming soon.

Use OruxMaps manual for most functions.

Please, report bugs and wishes.

Remember it's a beta, do not use as a single tool!

NAVTAC

Orux,

Are the string and array spreadsheets available already for translation?

Hi, thanks,

Texts are available only in English and Spanish. Later I'll add in other languages;

I would rather correct the current texts in English, in order to use the correct terms, before making translations into other languages.

I have a Lowrance 5x HDI sonar with rs232 output for NMEA0183 data. I would like to connect my sonar with oruxmap blue by bluetooth module. I tried this kind of module http://www.dawnrobotics.co.uk/dagu-arduino-bluetooth-module/">//http://www.dawnrobotics.co.uk/dagu-arduino-bluetooth-module/. This module is detected and paired in oruxmap blue but there is no data like DBT NMEA sequence. Can you help me?

Thanks.

The bluetooth device is detected and paired in oruxmap blue but I can't get the DBT NMEA sequence. Maybe the bluetooth module is not adapted, i'm not a specialist. Can you help me?

go to 'settings--user interface--dashboard--user interface' and check the DBT control

go to 'settings--ais-nmea', select BT source, and select the BT device.

then, in the map viewer, 'tracks' button, -->'Start NMEA-AIS BT' option

Thanks

I would like to see the sailing dirction of my boat in order to control my leeway.

This means that I want to place my mobile device horizontally in my boat, and Oruxmaps should see from the compass how the device is directed, and should compare the direction with the direction of movement.

Hello,

I've got questions/bugs concerning the appearance of sea marks like tons in different zoom settings.

I've tested with the latest oruxmaps blue and a map of the river mosel in the city koblenz/germany but other german seaways show the same behavior.

1. Online Map "MxM Openseamap & Base Map":

On zoom level 16 I see no sea marks at all.

On zoom level 17 I see some sea marks(red and green tons) but not that yellow ton I see on level 15.

On zoom level 15 I see only a few sea marks like a yellow ton but not the red and green ones from level 17.

2. Downloaded Offline Map:

I downloaded a part of the above online map with the oruxmaps map creator. Zoom levels 10-16.

I can only see some (not all) sea marks on zoom level 16.

Any other zoom level does not show any sea marks.

The drawing of the sea marks is so weird that nautical use is nearly impossible. Can you please fix this?

Greetings,

Hello Zodiac,

Did you maybe find a solution for this problem? I have the same problem on my mobile: sea marks are only visible at certain zoom levels. For example I see some green ton at level 15 but not a yellow one, while at level 16 I can see the yellow one but not the green one.

I'm hoping that you found some solution because it would make Oruxmaps very useful while sailing :-)

Kind regards,

Dries

Unfortunality I did not find a solution. As you can see no one replied to my post. I would have expected the author to answer as this is a severe problem.
