I am working with those sensors...

About reconnections. If you start the sensors manually (you do not use the automatic connect setting) the app should try to reconnect indefinitely. This is so that it is not constantly trying to connect when automatic connection is activated, and you are not using the sensors.

I will correct the problem with the MAC of second sensor, and add the sensor name to the warning messages about connection/disconnections.

orux

Thanks for the tip about automatic sensor connection, I will do manual connection for now on when I need to use the sensors.

Btw do you have any plans to update the 3d map viewer (not mapbox), often times I get stuck with a partial rendering regardless of optimize 3d rendering, texture size/complexity, I'm on miui 14/android 13 if that helps.

Hi orux, I was recording a route using oruxmaps, and also recording using a dedicated cycle computer, most of the stats were similar except on the bike computer the altitude gain/loss was off by almost 1000 ft from what orux shows, im not sure what one is correct. (I have more confidence in orux then the chinese bike computer (Xoss G2 Plus) but who knows.).

Anyways I have another bike computer arriving in a few days so i'll be able to compare against that one too.

btw the new update works great.

Hi orux found another bug with using Bluetooth speed and cadence sensors, if one of the sensors doesn't connect properly (ie dead battery) then both sensors will be aborted and both will remain disconnected

Hi orux, awesome work,
I picked up some bike sensors recently, so I was messing around in orux to see how they work.
I was wondering with the sensors like cadence / speed, could you make it so it retries to re-connect to them indefinitely (or a configurable time), sometimes I walk away from my bike for a few minutes and often forget to tell orux to reconnect to the sensor, also on the track statistic page it's a bit confusing what data is from the sensors and what's from the GPS, maybe a toggle to show sensor stats and a toggle to show GPS stats if possible.

I was also messing with some bike computer app, it could play back your ride route like a video from 1x to 100x speed and has like a little dot icon that moves through the route and shows riding speed as it plays through, I thought that would be pretty neat if orux could do that, but you could show more stats like altitude, speed, grade...etc

Edit:
also minor bugs, when adding a second sensor to the BLE cadence / speed, it should show the mac address like the first sensor does, since there is no way to know if the second sensor is added, also for popup noticications it just says bluetooth sensor connected, maybe that could be improved to something like BTLE speed sensor connected / BTLE cadance sensor connected, same with the connection lost message.

Hi orux,
Just throwing this idea out there since im not sure if this would be possible to implement, but I was thinking about a feature to calculate / generate a route based off the slope map data, ie for backcountry skiing for going uphill generate a route in a certain radius from a start point and end point based on the easiest / minimal slope to avoid the steeper terrain, or for a downhill run find the steepest non cliffy (perhaps configurable)  slope and make a route for that.

Every time I go backcountry ski I always think how useful that would be :).

In beta8 when I go to edit a saved route I try to use free selection mode to select areas I want to delete but it says nothing selected, I think it's a bug :)

Thanks for adding the slope and relief map overlays, looks great!.

There does seem to be some transparency issues with the vtm map viewer, but looks fine in the standard viewer.

Hi Orux, great job on all the new features.
I was wondering if you could add an option to show the slope map overlay with a quick toggle similar to the show/hide shadows overlay option, this way I wouldn't need to create a custom map everytime to use the slope overlay.

Thanks!

Hello, if you put the track properties screen When you start the recording you can decide in which folder it will be saved.

🅃🅁🄾🄽🄿🄾

Yeah, I know that, but I like to record my tracks by year, so it would make sense to auto store them in a 2023 folder without having to manually select it each time, and I am usually in a hurry when i record tracks so I often to forget to set it.

Btw orux, do the graphhopper routes only work in the GP version, I downloaded the ghz file and extracted it, but it still pops up a message about not being configured or whatever when I try to map a route, not a huge deal since I use brouter, but I still wanted to see how graphhopper worked.
- whoops my fault I guess I needed to select the state graphhopper folder under storage menu..

Another bug I noticed is when I go to a saved track statistics and click the big share icon (next to the floppy disc icon) when the map is shared with a screenshot the map is black, I noticed it's using the wrong map source which is unavailable where I am, is it possible to use the thumbnail map source or offline maps?

Hi orux, when recording a track can you make it possible to use a default folder, kinda like how you can set a default activity?

Hi orux awsome work, vtm maps are awsome.

Btw I was wondering if it's possible to change the map source for the Route Statistics->Share Icon (top right)->Share a screen capture (ok) -> then it will use some online map source that doesnt load, I went through all the options but couldnt find anyway to change this.

or perhaps if you could link it to the same map source as the thumbnail map source that would work too.

Thanks for making a 0.0.1 old api install apk, just upgraded to new phone and it's great to be able to keep all my old directories on the sdcard without migrating.

Thanks for adding massive track modification awesome feature.

Also as Lenz was saying I noticed the slope coloring was off too, for example this area is basically flat, but it was showing red, you can see it starts off blue, then just changes red, maybe my phone had bad gps lock or something since I was just starting out or a glitch, but I noticed it along the whole route where colors seemed off, under GPS settings I have "Smooth the altitude" enabled, all other boxes are unchecked.

btw is there a feature to blacklist an area for example don't record the track until out of the marked area or bounding box, I usually record a track from my house so I can never share the gpx since it shows where I live, or I have to go in and edit the track to remove the start / finish not a big issue but would come in handy.

When recording a track would it be possible to show the color slope on the fly instead of the normal red line?

Thanks for this great program.

nice work in beta6 previous bugs seemed to be fixed.

btw is there a way to batch move tracks to folders?, I looked but it seems you have to go to each track and assign a folder, this is not a huge priority but it would be a nice feature to have.
