I use Oruxmaps for mountain biking, hiking and ski-alp in the Alps.
I like OpenAndroMaps and the Elevate theme (or winter sports fork https://www.senotto.de/Tipps_Tricks/GPS/OAM_Winter/OAM_Winter.html). I love it for its ability to configure the display based on the sport practiced

Wanting to try new maps and/or themes, I ask you what you use and why you like them...
Thank you.

Hi Orux,
with 9.7 beta 4 you introduce the new option to get voice messages based on the increment/decrement of altitude (settings-->TTS/voice).
It works perfectly!  :)

Now it could be nice to get another voice message about ascending/descending vertical speed (m/s).
It could be instantaneous or average (last x minutes or y meters ascended/descended)  :-*

Hi, using an old android 7.1.1 orux 10.0 GP works perfectly with OpenAndroMaps and and map style "elevate" (last version 5.2)
that I can configure (picture A - mtb, for instance).
However if I activate VTM viewer the theme "elevate" doesn't work (picture B): why?? :(

Ps: the same thing with previus 9.7beta18 as described

Hi, please someone can help me?
I'd like to receive a vocal message every 100m in ascending distance (oruxmaps working offline).

In general settings - voice - tracks if I put 1 in TTS Time I get correctcly a vocal message every 1 minute, telling me the ascending distane. That is TTS messages are working!

But I put 0 in TTS Time (that is TTS not time based) and I put 10 (I think they are 10 meters in ascending distance) TTS distance I get no vocal message ... and I made many meters in ascending distance!

What is my mistake?

GENERAL / Best solution for altitude correction
June 13, 2022, 10:33:17 AM
Hello,
I have done several tests and it seems to me that a acceptable  altitude correction of the recorded track
is obtained on Orux 9.0.3gp with the third option: apply the rounding filter - rounding radius 4

In global settings- sensor setting - gps I use: correction NMEA, smoth the altitude, use file DEM
Does anyone have other experiences or ideas  for smartphones without a barometric sensor ?
Thanks  :)

He,
I am very satisfied user of oruxmaps but I have some doubts in correcting the altitude of the recorded track: in the choice of the rounding filter what do the numbers 1 2 4 8 16 mean? it is called a rounding radius, but of what?

Which is the best fix between these and choosing to use DEM files?

Thanks to those who can help me understand and sorry for my poor English ... :'(
