Let's see what the developer has to say here but, in the meantime, do you know that you can disable the functionality altogether?

'Waypoints - Group waypoints'

I thought I would try turning it off after all, but now I don't see this option which I was sure I remembered.  Under Global Settings > Waypoints I see "No icons" and "Show Waypoint names" etc., but not a Group Waypoints option.  Am I looking in the wrong place?

Yes, but thank you.  Like I said the "combining function is a great feature" and I don't want to turn it off.  I just wish it were a bit less eager to hide my waypoints behind the count bubbles.  It seems to be configured to prevent touching of the waypoint icons whereas I am perfectly OK with a bit of overlap as long as I can still recognize them.

Please consider adding a control for how aggressive OruxMaps is in combining waypoint icons and replacing them with a count.

The combining function is a great feature but I find that it is too eager to combine close waypoints, making it hard to fine ones of a particular type unless I already know where to zoom in.  I have many unique waypoint icons loaded from .KMZ file.

Since no one has any suggestions I guess I'll need to reinstall.  What is the best practice for that?

I am having this problem with 10.1.8 GP on Android 7.0.  What can I try to fix it short of a reinstall?

I am embarrassed that it took so long for me to come back to this, but I just installed 7.3.7 and I appreciate the added feature.  Thank you.

I appreciate this! However I am about to leave for a trip and I don't want to risk changing anything or running a Beta version.  I shall gladly test it when I get back.

You already can define different profiles with different settings. But still not possible select them from the wigdet.

Thank you.  I thought those profiles were for User Interface settings but I see they can do more.

Would you consider adding a selector to the widget as an option?

When you load a route in the map viewer, a 'starting point' wpt. is added, with the track description. but not one for each segment. I will check, because this information should be also available.

I am not loading a route.  Rather I am using "Load KML/SHP Overylay."  I seek a way to read the <description> for each <LineString> path in the KML file.  Ideally I would also like to load a <LineString> as a route directly from the overlay.  Often my KML/KMZ files have dozens or hundreds of paths within them, making it impractical to use "Load KML/GPX file" on them.

The latest update to Locus Maps Pro wanted me to agree to privacy invasion so I uninstalled it.  I shall be relying entirely on OruxMaps at this point.  There are two features of Locus Maps Pro that I will immediately miss.

Define and quickly select track recording profiles.  When I am recording a track while driving I wish to use very different Minimum Time and Minimum Distance parameters than I do for hiking.  I want to be able to define "hiking" and "driving" profiles, then select these from the OruxMaps Widget when I start a track.

View KML track details.  I typically prepare a KML file with routes, trails, etc., and include important information such as difficulty in the <description> of each path.  I need a way to view these details from the KML overlay.  I would also like to be able to select a single path from the overlay and load it as a route.

GENERAL / KML overlay icon size

I am a happy user of OruxMaps but there is something that is detracting from my experience with the application.  The icons on my KML overlays are either too big or too small; too big if I use the Scale icon bitmaps option, and too small if I do not.  Is there a configuration parameter to change the scaling?
