Joining multiple maps

I know this has been raised before, but it still doesn't looks like there is a solution. I want to be able to have offline maps for an entire country and that still doesn't seem possible. Only having 4 calibration points doesn't work for many maps on the scale of 100s of miles. Also, one huge map file would be, well, huge and it would be much better to have the ability to add parts of the map in chunks. The obvious answer is to have multiple maps (potentially hundreds of them for an entire country) and have orux join them when you move from one to another. Then they can be calibrated on a smaller scale and a user can only include the tiles they need. I've keep an eye on the change logs over the years since I started using oruxmaps and it still doesn't look like this is possible, have I missed something or can you come up with a solution?
