@tstreibl,
regarding ypur "P.S.":

Sonny mentioned at twitter, that his LiDAR-DTMs can be temporarily accessed via https://sonny.4lima.de/ , until the original location is back.

@Matthias,
which hillshading function have you activated, when your OruxMaps crashes?

settings-> Maps -> Apply hill shadows
or
settings-> Maps -> Mapsforge settings->Apply hill shadows

try the other method then.

MAPAS/MAPS / Re: OruxMaps Wear maps
August 08, 2022, 10:19:28 AM
Hi,
only google maps are available on OruxMaps Wear. I would love to see OpenAndroMaps/Elevate, which i see on my phone, also on my Smartwatch.

Are you using 0.0.15 from https://www.oruxmaps.com/cs/en/more/downloads ?
If i open the map on my watch, i don't know how to "exit" that view. I tried press&hold, swiping, double-tap. What am i missing?

...and also get rid of the button yoiu don't use/want.
Personally i am happy with the full blown menue. But can you point me to the direction, how someone could individually get rid of unwanted buttons?
I know the new "Unified Interface", but as far as i understood, it's a predefined and reduced interface.
EDIT: I know i can modifiy the menue swiping in from the left (pencil & tick or untick the highest menue level)

i understand what you mean ;-)
It's a bit like 90% of the MS Word/Excel users, which are using maybe only 20% of it's capabilities & features. But see the fullblown menue on the top bar.

Since you never wanted these integrations, i assume you never enabled them by adding e.g. any username/password to "global settings"->"Integration"?
Therefore you would have nothing to do, to "disable" it.

But, as far as i know, there is no mechanism, e.g. to hide the "upload to cloud" button in the property window of a track.

Dear Orux friends,

when i loaded a track (Manage Tracks/Routes->Follow/see as a route) it is shown on map as i want it (with slope colored path).
If i load then another route, it is also shown.
But the prevously loaded routes are still shown on the map with colored slope path.

Some weeks or months ago, all previously loaded tracks were shown kind of yellowish/dotted; and only the active route was shown colourful.
I liked that behaviour.

Either the behavour of "OruxMap 9.0.4 GP" has changed, or i have changed some setting which i can't find anymore.
Anyone knows where to change that back?

my understanding: if you select "10" at "Distance for TTS" you get the your selected "messages to speak" only every 10km.
Assuming you also have in global settings->Units->Distance selected "kilometers"

GENERAL / Re: OruxMaps 9.03 GP

Haran,
when you connect your Android11 phone to a PC, don't you see the directory ./Android/data/com.orux.oruxmapsDonate/files/oruxmaps/ ?
There you have the subdirectories dem, mapstyles, mapfiles, etc.

Hi,
i also use the power button to switch the OruxMaps map screen off or on, when i need it, while OM is tracking and map is shown.
I also recently noticed a few times, after switching screen off, the screen turned on again.
What helped helped me in this situation: I closed all apps (running in background?), then brought OM, which is still tracking, again in foreground. Then the power button behaved as i wanted it.

BETAS / Re: New beta version 9.0.2betaxxxx

Hello , a little thing with 9.0.2beta3:
when I import  a GPX file into the database the new entry has a strange name. For example "Track_1639850099214".

Before, the new entry had the same name that the  imported file:
File name = "abcd.gpx" gave an entry called "abcd".
Is it possible to have this function again?
ps:I remember the same problem with 8.5.x, then solved...
Same for me on 9.0.2 GP:
I import a *.gpx, which i have previously downloaded from http://www.outdooractive.com
And it shows in in the track DB as "Track_<EPOCH Timestamp of the time i imported it>"
In previous versions the name in the db was corresponding to the name-tag within the gpx file (metadata?), or the filename itself? Not sure..

EDIT: i just noticed, if i put the "abcd.gpx" file into the tracklogs directory of OruxMaps and then import that gpx from within OruxMaps, it adds it to the DB named as "abcd".
But if i navigate to any other directory, e.g. "Downloads"or somewhere at GoogleDrive, and import from there, i have the name as "Track_<EPOCH Timestamp of the time i imported it>"

EDIT2: The behaviour seems to be related to the Android version? What i described above happens on my Android11 phone. On my older Android 6 phone all imported *.gpx show up in the DB with a name that correspond to the filename, independent from the directory i imported it from.

ERRORES/BUGS / Re: Error 9.0.2
May 24, 2022, 08:29:39 AM
Hi,
are your maps stored on micro-SD card ("125A-E3AF" looks like that)?
If yes, maybe try a different card.
Or first try to put your map on internal phones storage, open from there.
Adjust Settings->App storage->  Maps directory

9.0.2beta1: tapping a *.gpx in WhatsApp/Signal/GoogleDrive/Dropbox, selecting Oruxbeta to open it with, loads the track now successfully.

9.0.1beta2 on my Android11:
Now it opens a *.gpx only from GoogleDrive, not from WhatsApp or Dropbox.

9.0.1beta1 allows me again to load a *.gpx, which is stored on GoogleDrive or Dropbox.
But an *.gpx, which i have in a WhatsApp chat, still leads to an "Error loading route!" message.
