Oruxmaps is my very much preferred app to track my bike activities. I now plan to use a power sensor in order to collect power data in addition to the ususal cadence and HR data. Is it possible to connect a powermeter (powertap in my case) to Oruxmaps via the ANT+ protocol?
Best regards,
Joerg

Hi, thanks;
that sensor is a bit complicated, I will try in the future,

Dear Orux,
thank you for the implementation of the power sensor. I tested it during my first ride this year and it seemed to work, i.e. the power data were displayed during my tour. However, I was not able to download the data from the Galaxy S5 which I used to collect the data. The gpx file only contained the usual location data, but no power data. What do I need to do to get the data into ecxel or golden cheetah?

Hi Orux, in a few days I'm going to buy an ant+ power meter, I already did some testing and the power data are showed correctly, but without the rolling averages (3, 5, 10, 30 seconds window) data fields, as in the garmin units, it's almost impossible to use oruxmaps with a power meter because the power data in inherently too jumpy.
Thank you again for this amazing app :!: and please consider adding these data fields. Thanks
up :D
I am interested to buy the spanish Rotor InPower 3D powersensor for my bike.
But I will buy only when the data can be shown on Oruxmaps.
Is there anyone who does know or can confirm that?

hello;
What about the accumulated values?
Please, could you tell us which fields are working fine,
orux
Today I tried Stages Power Meter with Orux and it works OK on my Xperia 3 Compact ( via ANT ) - i see on my dashboard values from Power Meter .
The problem is, as we can read here in post by joergjoung from 03. April 2015 - gpx contain no Power Data.
We need TCX or better FIT file format.
Are there any plans to implements possibility to save track as Fit or Tcx????
+1 for this one. Displaying current power is just one side of the coin. I've also recently acquired a power meter and started to use it for indoor training. While it's still winter, soon this will change, and I'll still want to use power data for training analysis. Hence, it would be great if Oruxmaps could offer support for .fit files. I'd very much love to avoid to buy another device which for everything but power analysis would be completely redundant.

Hello,
last beta version adds support to export tracks in FIT, TCX and CSV formats; experimental, not all sensors data available.

I have installed ( OruxMaps 7.0.6 beta) but can not find option to choose fit or tcx as saving format. ( What i found: ,,automatic creation gpx'')
Can you help me where in seetings is hidden fit, tcx choice.
Sorry, only saw the reply now - three months later. Thank you very much for the hint.
Not inside settings.
Goto tracklist, mark track and export.

Thanks a lot.
Unfortunatelly it looks like it is not working with my 4iii Power Meter. In 2 weeks i will try how it works with Stages Power Meter.
In tcx file i see all details ( heart rate, cadence , speed ....but no Power) and i see track on map corectly .Tcx exported to Strava -//https://www.strava.com/activities/921191922- coordinates , gps track Ok
In fit file i seel all details (heart rate, cadence , speed ....but no Power) and i think there is a problem with coordinates - see another fit exported to Strava //https://www.strava.com/activities/921194072
More test i will do on Saturday.
Stages Power Meter also not working
( in tcx or fit i see cadence from Power Meter but i don't see power values)
On screen during a ride i see power from both Stages and 4iii.
( I have tried in Orux Beta and in Orux Donate)
Hi,
are there plans for power meter BLE support in the future? Most Smartphone have BLE, but no ANT+ and more and more power meters have BLE lately.

Perdix
I use OruxMaps since several years and it's a great piece of software and the "killer app" for my smartphone.
(I'm riding about 10,000 to 15,000 kms a year.) My longest ride (with OruxMaps) was a 3,500 km cycling tour from Vienna to Lisbon last summer.)
Since last october I'm the proud owner of a Quarq Dzero power meter.
It's current power output is display correctly (and quicker than on a Garmin Edge!).
But current power has nearly no practical use because the values are jumping (and that's normally the
case with a power meter). So I think users of a power meter would need "sliding averages" (3, 5, 10,
30 seconds) to have meaningful data on their display.
The second problem: in none of the supported file formats the power data is exported.
Is there a chance that these issues could get addressed in the future?
Sincerely,
Michael

Thank you for supporting BLE powermeters now! It works with the latest version of Stages powermeters. 8-) I would also like to see an averaging function and support for gpx files. :P
Another function appreciated is support of power and cadence at the same time. For now, one can only select either power or cadance over BLE.
Keep up the great work, it is the best app on my phone! Really appreciated!
BR
Sorry to bump such old thread.
Are BLE power meters supported on current versions?
I ask this because I am thinking of buying an android phone to use oruxmaps for navigating and training (have now a stages gen 3 powermeter (Ant+ and ble, but the phone only has ble).
Hello,
Thanks a lot for the creation of this app which is so powerfull !!!
I'm desperately searching for an alternative for my Garmin edge(s) ... they don't last very long and after the usual 2 year warranty period Garmin doesn't offer any replacement off course ...
I already used 5 of them in ten years.
I like a lot Oruxmaps that I started using since a couple of weeks but as others already suggested, there is a need for a slight evolution in the handling of the powerdata:
1) First of all there is no power data in the exported files (I use this data a lot for building up condition towards specific events and it gives me a fair good idea about my condition, workload, fatigue etc )
2) To use powerdata while riding I need at least sliding averages.
Is it planned to have those in a near future ?
