Title: Raster Cache control
Post by: panda on September 23, 2014, 04:23:59 PM
Hello,

Can anybony explain me, what the raster cache is good for and how can I control it? Or avoid it?

I use only offline vectorial maps (openandromaps) and since a few days, om is filling up the folder .cacheimg with more than 150mb on the internal card.

(om version 5.5.22)

Thanks panda

Hi,

the cache avoids a lot of work to the app when has to draw vector tiles. It can take a lot of time if the tile is not in the cache.

this cache is not configurable, but it will be in next future.

not sure now, but the cache should not grow more that 128mb.

Hello Orux,

thanks for reply.

If possible it would be good if the cache can be stored on external sdcard.

PS: for Garmin maps you can set a limit for cache, but om doesn't care about it.

Other vector maps fill also the raster cache.

(I use openandromaps and garmin maps simultanously)

When the "future" is reached? ;-) - need to move the .cacheimg to sdcard ...
