->use a set of polygons as geofences or exclusion zones. Load/create a new map overlay (kml or from your tracks/routes/list). It must have one polygon at least. Maps button-> overlay options->tweak overlay. If there are polygons you should see two new options (geofence and exclusion zone). This feature will work in tracking and recording modes. You should see a new icon in the status bar if that feature is enabled. If you go outside a geofence zone, or inside a exclusion zone, you should hear a beep alert (pending to add new customized sounds).

->new tile system with mapsforge maps. Tile size variable, depending on screen density (tile sizes 256, 512, 768, 1024 px). Removed scale factor from settings (letter and icons size still available).

First test works well at 440ppi, thanks!

I will test it more and different densities, as this is a pretty massive change. But now mapsforge maps will work better on very high ppi devices.



The zoom level is still showing the equivalent number for 512px tiles, right? I don't think this makes sense for the other tile sizes, as now every size except 512px will show a different scaled view. I would suggest to return to real zoom level numbers.

I was about to ask you for the POIs when you're finished with fixing bugs in the latest release, but the sooner the better.

Looks good at first glance. I think there are a lot of possibilities to use this, but at first I have some optimizations:

- sort categories alphabetical

- sort POIs by distance

- reformat search results for better overview, e.g.:



Name:

Name of POI (only this in bold)

Distance:

1.23km

More Infos... > (expandable, includes latitude/longitude)



More ideas: show all results in map, address search (by country->city->street->number), search radius (limit to ...km) etc.

I immediately tested this function and I must say there is still much to do.

Right the implementation comments he said eartrumpet, would add the shortest route to get there, and add altitude data taken from DEM (functions that are important in context mountain...)



I saw that to me does not work "show on the map", but only "creates a waypoint".

It is important that they are shown search results on the map.

Yes it is the initail test, I need to know that all go right about poi database access in different devices/systems.



I am working to improve the functionality offered; it has many possibilities.

Desde hace tiempo tengo problemas con los ficheros DEM y ahora he actualizado al nougat 7.0 y  sigo igual.

El tema es que orux no los localiza en la la carpeta, si bien cuando accedo a la carpeta con un gestor de archivos si que esta. Tampoco me funciona los mapas en 3D por el mismo motivo.

Utilizo la  tarjeta sim como extensión de memoria interna.

Seria interesante para mi conocer si a alguno os sucede esto

No sé porqué, pero la extensión de la sdcard como almacenamiento interno da fallos; algunas apps no encuentran los ficheros, aunque deberían estar ahí.

Gracias orux, Lo que comentas tiene muchas posibilidad de ser lo que me sucede. En cuanto tenga un "ratito" voy a cambiar la configuración del movil, dejándolo sin tarjeta SD y probando de esa forma. Pero como indicaba debe de ser eso ya que si abro el gestor d archivos, me voy a la carpeta "dem" marco unpo de los archivo X.dem y le digo que lo abra con orux, en ese momento si que funciona el indicador de  alturas... pero al salirme de la app y volver a abrirla se pierde, como bien dices: "como si no consiguieran encontrar la ruta del archivo". Lo curioso es que siendo la misma ubicación si localizan la ruta por ejemplo de los mapas.

test search a lot of peaks in my bavarian alps with a 100% quote.

i have only to set the filter to: Natural and i get all what i need.  :)  :)  :)

how can i save the route ?





a sugestion for the maptheme changer funtion: please mark the aktual theme in the list.

android es una pesadilla en cuanto a la gestión de ficheros; desde la 4.x ha ido variando en cada nueva versión!

yes; searches are expensive. Those databases have a 'bounds' field, but it is empty.



Later, I might separate that function from the associated mapsforge maps.

Orux, there is now a beta version of some "Maps" app for android wear which uses Mapbox's maps to get offline maps for Android Wear. Tho' just a limited people are testing it now - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.trackwear.maps

Tengo un dispositivo con ANDROID 4.4.2. y he instalado "oruxmaps 7.0.6 BETA_5" y te informo de las siguientes observaciones:


  • Cuando cargo dos o más capas (menú mapa >> Opciones de capa >> cargar capa KML) y después cierro la aplicación durante unos minutos, al volver a abrirla
sólo aparece la última de las capas cargadas, desapareciendo las restantes.



Tampoco entiendo por qué ahora para cargar una capa hay que activar una casilla de verificación puesto que sólo deja cargar una capa de cada vez. Tendría sentido el sistema de casillas de verificación si se pudiera cargar varias capas al mismo tiempo, pero por lo menos en mi caso, a mi no me deja hacer eso.[/list]

Ya hace tiempo que he detectado que el "Factor de escala" no solo afecta los elementos sino que también afecta al tamaño de textos e iconos.

Sin embargo en la versión en Inglés parece que la descripción es correcta: "Increase the size of the map artifacts (improves visibility)"

Podría ser una traducción inexacta?

sí, tienes razón a medias.



En las nuevas versiones el 'factor de escala' desaparece, porque la app lo ajusta directamente en función de la resolución de la pantalla, sólo quedan los ajustes para tamaño de letra e iconos,

Tengo la ultima Beta instalada. Observo que me aparece el simbrolo de compatiendo en vivo pero no soy capaz de desactivar dicha función en esta nueva versión. por contra sí me permite activar desactivar multitraking

I found some bugs in application. I found them in final release 7.0.5 Donate, but they are still in latest beta too.



1) In track statistics is enabled all options for graph by default, but if the x-axis is set to distance, the heart rate have to be disabled. After switching between distance and time everything is right.

Aprovechando mi despiste anterior y una vez que descubro mi ignorancia al respecto. Hay en el foro algún tutorial o guia basica de como utilizar la función APRS en oruxmaps. Por lo que entiendo sirve para hacer un seguimiento en vivo del posicionamiento y esto me interesa.

There are two things I recently came upon:



Composite Maps - behaviour changed:



I started using offline composite maps again. With 7.0 and higher, it's now only possible to use the zoom levels which all used maps have in common. E.g. if I use an OpenAndroMap with ZL 1 to 21 combined with a mbtiles map with ZL 12 to 16, the zoom levels available in the composite map are now only 12 to 16. With 6.5.10, I am able to use ZL 1 to 21, with only 12 to 16 having the additional map visible.



I would prefer to have the same behaviour as in 6.5.10.

Even better would be to have an advanced option: "use digital zoom for missing zoom levels of one map", that means a pixel map is zoomed digitally for those zoom levels, that still exist in one map, but not in the other.





Folder change assistant:



At the moment, a user can choose whatever folder he likes, e.g. when setting the maps directory. This only works well for advanced user, who know what they are doing. If you are choosing e.g. a general folder on an external sd card, one might run into problems. The only thing you get is a warning, that OruxMaps can't write in the folder. For example when using an orux-map://-link on OpenAndroMaps - the app can't write to the mapfiles folder when chossing the link.



But there are working options, so why not offer those to a user?

E.g. with a wizard with those options:



( ) standard internal SD folder

    (storage/sdcard/oruxmaps/mapfiles)



( ) standard external SD folder

    (storage/1EE8-1D0C/Android/data/com.orux.oruxmaps/mapfiles) [1EE8-1D0C or whatever number the external SD has]

    WARNING! This folder will be deleted when uninstalling OruxMaps



( ) custom folder (for advanced users)



When using the "custom folder" option and a folder with no write permission for OruxMaps is chosen, don't only show the warning, but give the user the option of Android 5.0 and above to grant write access, like this app does:

This would make it a lot easier for novice users to use OruxMaps with external SD cards.

I thought the same, and found that you can remove the AIS sensor from Nav Drawer, by changing the "GPS-AIS-NMEA source" to "BT"

Folder change assistant:

If you are choosing e.g. a general folder on an external sd card, one might run into problems. The only thing you get is a warning, that OruxMaps can't write in the folder. For example when using an orux-map://-link on OpenAndroMaps - the app can't write to the mapfiles folder when chossing the link.



But there are working options, so why not offer those to a user?

E.g. with a wizard with those options:



( ) standard internal SD folder

    (storage/sdcard/oruxmaps/mapfiles)



( ) standard external SD folder

    (storage/1EE8-1D0C/Android/data/com.orux.oruxmaps/mapfiles) [1EE8-1D0C or whatever number the external SD has]

    WARNING! This folder will be deleted when uninstalling OruxMaps



( ) custom folder (for advanced users)



When using the "custom folder" option and a folder with no write permission for OruxMaps is chosen, don't only show the warning, but give the user the option of Android 5.0 and above to grant write access, like this app does:

This would make it a lot easier for novice users to use OruxMaps with external SD cards.

folder change-> I think it's a reasonable proposal. But the Storage Access Framework doesn't work to write sqlite databases in external sdcard (maps).

Thanks for considering! Maybe just add an option like the multiply effect, [ ] limit to overlapping zoom levels.

There are OpenAndroMaps overview maps for low zoom levels which are meant to be combined with vector maps for higher levels (mbtiles version for this reason is coming), which doesn't work with OruxMaps 7+ anymore.

So you mean when using the map creator? Would it be possible to cache the map in the internal SD card or private external folder (.../Android/data/com.orux.oruxmaps) while creating and then move it to the custom folder?

I found a bug in beta7. After having recorded a track I looked at stats and saw 117 m vertical gain. After a couple of hours I launched again the app and looked at the stats again that were now saying around 140 m. I opened the track manager and chose to correct altitude using local DEMs and it went back to 117!

Tried again today, same weirdness. Before stopping the recording of the track the dashboard showed 150m vertical gain. Stopped the recording, looked at stats and it was 120m. I then completely quit the app and relaunched, looked at stats again and it was 150m. I corrected altitudes using local DEMs and it was 120m again (which I believe is more correct, but I'm not sure). Phone is a Moto X 2014 (2nd gen), it has no barometer and is set to always use local DEMs.



I can send you the track and the DEM, if it can help.

1. A bit hidden the the little Downarrow to get the List.



The Germann translation should be

"Lufträume" with 2 dots above the a



2. Should here be buttons check all/none/revert?

Is red checked or unchecked

On that overlay I see always overlapping text. Hola, creo que en la opción de multitraking, sería muy interesante añadir la posibilidad de alarma cuando un compañero sale del radio, ahora solo ésta la opción de cuando entra. De esta manera en las rutas de grupo podríamos saber cuando nos hemos alejado en exceso y parar a esperar. Gracias, saludos cordiales

1. You must display a mapsforge map

2. Inside the mapsfolder must be a "country.poi" file



After that you should see the offline search below waypoint tools.

Yes, it's true! It's my forgetfulness. I was trying the beta version. The voice menu item, appears when you put the POI in mapfiles folder.

Hi,



the offline POI search window orientation is fixed, i.e. it doesn't rotate when rotating the phone. This is unfortunate for me as I have a broken screen and can only use the upper half of it. So in order to input text I need to rotate the screen. All other views in the app rotate with the phone. Would you please consider to fix this?
