I give it a try. But where the hell can I find this WIDGET and how do I put it on the screen?

BTW: the problems reported exist not only on Huawei, on WIKO smartphones is the same. I used 3 different models in the last years and with Android Nougat the problem started...

Quote from: discover post_id=14639 time=1546242514 user_id=8257I have found the Enerygy Saving settings for Samsung XCover 4 (SM-G390F) and Android 8.1.0 Oreo
Did that solve the problem for your phone? Long time experience...?

Full day activity for more than 7 hours walking/cycling with longer stops.

Unfortunately I couldr not resolve the problem of stopped track registration yet. I was trying this for almost a year now and can say, that on some days everything is working fine even for hours and on other days the track registration stopped every time the screen shuts down. I have no idea why sometimes it's just working fine and on other days it's not?!?! I get crazy about this bug. I even think that action from other apps are causing the strange behavior: Oruxmaps works fine, but when my smartphone receives a message or a WhatsApp the track registration stops!!!

Strange enough, other apps are not influenced: Wahoo Fitness works fine almost all of the time, Locus has instead similar problems like OM.

I am not an expert, but at the end I believe it's not a settings issue, but interaction with other apps...

Actually: Wiko Upulse lite Android 7.0

Before: Wiko Rainbow with Android 4.4 everything worked fine.

@orux :

I have tried now for more than a year to fix the problem on my smartphone without any success.

I tried ALL suggestions, different apk-Versions, but the behaviour is remaining.

As I supposed in a previous post, some SETTINGS may help for certain hardware, certain OS in combination with certain APK-Version, but it is still no guarantee that this will help for everybody.

So I am at the point to choose a new Android-Smartphone for the only reason to work with OruxMaps properly!

My new smartphone must not satisfy other function.

Can someone please confirm which combination of hard- and software does REALLY work?

I need a proper every day tracking of activity without any worry.

Tanks for your input.

How can I check in OruxMaps which version is actually open?

As I run OruxMaps with german version on my smartphone I do not have any idea, which setting is meant.

Under Settings - Sensors - GPS I do not find any checkbox which seems to be "fused locations provider".

Do you have a screenshot?

What version should I have actually on the phone?

As here has been talking about Huawei problems (and I do not have a Huawei) I did not upload a newer version.

I encounter the same problem on my WIKO U Pulse Lite (Android 7.0)

Battery save mode already disabled.

But do get straight lines after a certain time of tracking.

It occurs only after a certain time, not always when screen is turning off.

Any idea how to resolve?

in settings-->sensors-->GPS, check minimum time and minimum distance,

Found the settings, but do not really understand the effect of different settings.

When in time intervall is set 2 sec (for example), I understand that the software saves every 2 seconds a trackpoint.

But what does setting 0 sec mean? It's not logic and quite impossible to save every 0 second a trackpoint.

Same with distance intervall: What does 0 meter (always) mean in relation to another setting like 5 m?

And when set time intervall and distance interval to chosen settings (4 sec., 5 m), which of the both is the parameter which is stronger to save a trackpoint?

Another lack of clarity in thr GPS precision setting: what's the difference in effect of settings like 0 m (always) and (for example) 250 m?

From a logic point of view a GPS precision better than 250 m should lead to more frequent saved trackpoints than a setting like 20 m (which saves only when precision is quite high). In this context a setting of 0 m (always) does not make any sense, because a precision of 0 m doesn't exist...

I read the user manual (in german) and do not find it very explaining. It lists for every section the settings, but does not really explain, what different configurations means.

So reading the user manual is not better than scrolling in the apps menu.

Don't misunderstand my critics: the app is a very powerfool tool, almost perfect for my needs and I congratulate you to such a big work. It let's his user do many things. But it's on the other side really complicated to get into the various possibilities. Scrolling the menu and trying different settings does not help much. Reading the UM dos not help either. So hoping to find solutions to my questions in the forum, finding some person which has experimentade topics, where I am at the beginning. :-)

Hi, not sure about being in the right forum section.

I cannot find any information about where to change settings for a more accurate track recording.

I am just coming back from a one week holiday where I tracked my daily trips with OruxMaps and noticed a very poor frequency of track points.

Sometimes the software saved a trackpoint every 10 seconds, sometimes from 2 to 5 seconds, and sometimes there was even no saved trackpoint for over a minute of riding (mtb).

I would like to change the pre-settings into obligatory 3 sec. frequentness.

In the "track settings" I found only the options "auto save" and "tracks auto backup", which both do not mean the setting I am looking for...

Thanks for help!
