I have just installed Oruxmaps on a Galaxy Tab 6. I originally logged in by creating a new Sicami account.
I then discovered I already had an account linked to Oruxmaps on my Android phone which was already created from an existing Oruxmaps account.
I have since deleted the new account and am trying to login with my original account but when I select 'Login Oruxmaps/SICAMI' and then get the Privacy Policy, I select Accept which takes me to 'Register/Login/Privacy Policy' screen then when I click 'Login' the screen changes to briefly to another screen before giving the error 'sorry, old server is no longer available'.
I assume the app still has my original login details saved so it's preventing me from entering new details.
Is there a way I can update the email and password in the app?

GENERAL / Remove possibe segments from GPX file
March 12, 2022, 08:53:28 AM
I have looked for GPX/route creating software that allows me to add waypoints with descriptions, follows the path (like Brouter and GraphHopper).
The best online software that I've found for this is Alltrails. This appears to follow the path more accurately than the other options and adding waypoints is straight forward.
The problem I have is when creating the route you have to do it in sections (segments) or it will route you the way the software wants, not the way you want. When I download the GPX file and add it to Oruxmaps, the map shows the positions of the 'segments'. If I view the track in Wtracks, the 'segments' are not displayed.
If I open the GPX track in a text editor I can see the waypoints but the as far as I can find, there is only one segment indicated by <trkseg> and </trkseg> at eh beginning and end of the data. Theres nothing at the points shown on the map. I have also searched the file for the coordinates shown when selecting the marker but nothing is found.
Can anyone tell me how I can remove these markers?
I have attached the GPX file and a screenshot of the issue.

GENERAL / Google Drive Integration
March 08, 2022, 01:05:30 PM
I have just discovered Google Drive listed in integration. Can someone explain, where it states 'backup' Will this only backup the tracks to the drive or will it sync any new tracks or modified tracks to the Oruxmaps folder?
The hours of backup defaults to '0'. Does this require a specific hour or if set to '0' will it backup on change or is a set time necessary?

For now I have installed FolderSync on my phone a and set it to sync the Maps folder and Map Styles folder. I can force a sync at any time or set to specific times which seems to work quite well. HAs anyone found a better way to achieve this? Will syncing of additional folders be introduced in Oruxmaps in the future?

MAPAS/MAPS / Open Street Maps .XML file code
January 20, 2021, 05:18:21 PM
I am trying to add the OSM maps as displayed here:
https://www.openstreetmap.org/export#map=15/51.6000/-0.4816
This is also the same as displayed on the Viewranger site under Open Street Map view.
https://my.viewranger.com/user/routes/add

It's similar to openstreetmap Mapnik but the footpaths are displayed better. I have tried the latest Vector graphics maps but not all the footpaths are on the map.

Any help would be appreciated.

GENERAL / Add ArcGIS layer as overlayin Oruxmaps
November 17, 2020, 11:22:52 PM

I have found a map overlay for footpaths created by my local authority on ArcGIS.com.
The overlay is named PROW_Public_New

The overlay can be viewed on a map here: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/View/index.html?appid=91b11349f29f40ec9770eba1108229ae

Is there a way I can display this as an overlay in Oruxmaps?

MAPAS/MAPS / Best map for Skiining in France
April 19, 2017, 09:36:52 AM
Hi,

I have introduced a friend to OruxMaps who intends to use it for skiing in the three valleys in France (val desaire).

Can anyone recommend the best maps for him to use for this purpose.

Thanks,

Keith.

GENERAL / Uploading track to OruxMaps servers
April 18, 2017, 10:08:25 AM
Hi,

When uploading a track to OruxMaps servers If I want to edit the details of the track and upload again the system states the file is already uploaded. I can 'remove from OruxMaps' the existing file and upload again but wondered if it would be possible to get a message saying the file is already uploaded and then an option to overwrite or cancel?

Also in the options for uploading the track there is a choice to make the file public, private or friends, how can I share this file with friends on the OruxMaps server?

Thanks,

Keith.

MAPAS/MAPS / Speciy map levels for online maps
March 03, 2017, 10:38:31 AM
Is it possible to specify specific map levels in the online .XML file.

The reason for this is the map I am using has a level range from 10 to 17, the detail in these maps is very close and it's very difficult to differentiate between some of the levels and a lower level digitally zoomed to the same size. When creating a map in Mobac I only download levels 14 & 16 to keep map files a reasonable size.

I know I can download an area prior to a walk and select specific levels to view but wondered if this can be achieved while online?

GENERAL / Changing to 'Donate' version of Oruxmaps
February 14, 2017, 09:14:32 AM
Hi,

Having installed the 'Donate' version of Oruxmaps, is there anything I need to move or copy over from the free version before uninstalling or can I uninstall the free version without losing tracks, maps and settings?

Thanks,

Keith.

GENERAL / Unable to upload to EverTrail
February 08, 2017, 11:44:52 AM
I am having a problem uploading to the EverTrail website.

I have checked username and password. The app returns the error Erro with connection! and "You do not have permission to access this API call".

This worked in the past.

I am using OruxMaps V.6.5.10 on a Samsung Galaxy S7.

Any advice would be appreciated.

MAPAS/MAPS / Map not displaying when scrolled
May 24, 2016, 10:09:42 AM
Oruxmaps V6.5.7

Samsung Galaxy S7

I have a problem with maps created in MOBAC. When I scroll across the map the map does not always reload/redraw. As the map moves across the page the edge of the area shows light lue and scrolls off the side. I find that it happens if I scroll one direction then back into a previously viewed area.

when the map fails to display if I select "switch map here" the appropriate map will then display which proves the map area is available.

I have tried with and without the Bug with zoom setting but it made no difference.

The map is created with MOBAC using the OruxMaps Sqlite, I have set map size to 128000.

The maps I have created are large with just 2 zoom levels being about 3.3GB; could this be the problem?

MAPAS/MAPS / Ordnance Survey Great Britain Online
September 05, 2015, 02:32:03 PM
Hi,

Is it possible to add the Ordnance Survey maps as an online source.

I have tried this using the URL that I use for Mobac using my own key but I can't get it to work.

I am using the code:
  <onlinemapsource uid="92">

http://ak.t3.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/r{$q}.png?g=3440&productSet=mmOS&key=*MYMAPKEY*

        <minzoom>1</minzoom>
        <maxzoom>19</maxzoom>
        <projection>MERCATORESFERICA</projection>
        <servers></servers>
        <httpparam name=""></httpparam>
        <xop></xop>
        <yop></yop>
        <zop></zop>
        <qop></qop>
    </onlinemapsource>

but I lose all online resources.

Thanks,

Keith.
