Hi. I have a Skytraxx vario (http://www.skytraxx.eu/skytraxx-2-1) which is capable of sending its position information in NMEA format via WiFi.
The way it is used is to activate a WiFi hotspot on your smartphone and connect the Skytraxx to that hotspot. On the smartphone, an app must be running which is capable of interpreting that information. One such app is XCsoar (https://www.xcsoar.org), which is open source. The app XCsoar receives the NMEA information through the WiFi connection and interprets it for displaying the user's position etc.
It would be great if this could be implemented in Oruxmaps, too. Since XCsoar is open-source, it should be fairly easy to look up how it is done there.
Thank you!
