MEJORAS/NEW FEATURES / Re: SLOPE LAYER USING DEM

Trying to bring up this old topic:
what are the angles currently used by oruxmaps to draw the various shades of colours in the "slopes map"?
Thanks

Hi mitxelin, thanks for your help.

Now the HDR+DEM is loading in OruxMaps (good!), but... it is not right.

In both OruxMaps and QMapShack I see the slopes (and also elevation shading) with "stripes", as the conversion did not work properly.

After some googling, I read for example here https://tilemill-project.github.io/tilemill/docs/guides/terrain-data/">https://tilemill-project.github.io/tile ... rain-data/">https://tilemill-project.github.io/tilemill/docs/guides/terrain-data/ to add "-r bilinear".

With this switch, no more stripes; but the result is anyway different from the original .ASC one: it seems to lose some "sharpness" and details (visible mainly on slopes).

What is the best method to keep original data and quality? I also tried with other -r switches (cubic, cubicspline, ....)

I see with gdalinfo that the sizes are different; is it possible maybe to keep same size to avoid resampling?

Sorry for the lot of answers, but I am no expert with the various gdal* tools...

Thanks

Davide

I made it to work. Just deleted the raster cache and now the slope map (normal and composite) is working properly...

Hi, I am trying to use HDR+DEM in OruxMaps, but without luck.

I have in .ASC file I got from http://tinitaly.pi.ingv.it">http://tinitaly.pi.ingv.it, and I converted it to HDR+BIL using "gdal_translate -a_srs EPSG:32632". The result is working properly in QMapShack, for example.

Then I put them in oruxmaps/dem folder, renaming .BIL to .DEM, but OruxMaps does not like it.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Hi all,

I am trying to use the slopes map from DEM files (from http://data.opendataportal.at/dataset/dtm-italy">http://data.opendataportal.at/dataset/dtm-italy, 1') and "alps west" map from OpenAndroMaps to make a composite map, for winter outdoor activities.

When trying to create the composite map, if I choose the "alps west" map first and the "slopes" next, it does not work even in the map creator; if I choose the "slopes" first, it works in the creator preview, but it does not work later anyway. I only get an empty map with the "loading" icon with the 2 circular arrows.

What am I doing wrong? Using OruxMaps 7.4.12.

Thanks

ok, thanks.

just out of curiosity: that would be the same for standard bluetooth devices, or in that case proprietary protocols are needed?

GENERAL / Bluetooth Smart heart rate compatibility

Hi guys,

I have a question about Bluetooth Smart heart rate belt.

Every kind of sensors supporting this protocol should be supported in oruxmaps or only specific brands?

I would like to buy this

http://www.decathlon.it/cardiofrequenzimetro-bluetooth-id_8288269.html">http://www.decathlon.it/cardiofrequenzi ... 88269.html">http://www.decathlon.it/cardiofrequenzimetro-bluetooth-id_8288269.html

as it is very cheap, but I do not know if it will work with oruxmaps.

Thanks
