GENERAL / Re: License check disables the app?
October 22, 2024, 09:17:22 AM
Hi, another little trick I am using in these months where if the problem we are talking about occurred: install and use the Beta version.
It does not go through google play and therefore has no license check and so it always starts, even without a connection.
Beta and GP share maps, tracks, dem and so the increase in space occupied is modest.

Sub optimal solution while waiting for OruxGp to come back as it did months ago..

Thanks Tronpo: I changed maps > maps Mapsforge > shading > shading magnitude from previous High + to Low and the map display looks the same as before.  ;D

Map rendering for me is slower even with the cached map..

Hello jdgraz, on the my Samsung (with android 13) the same problem as indicated:
https://oruxmaps.org/forum/index.php?topic=44558.msg58841#msg58841

My GooglePlay is always on, but without network connection sometimes the application does not start.
I would point out that once the connection is restored it starts regularly and even if I remove the connection the app still works.
This happens sporadically.
Clearing the application cache solves the problem for a day or a week o....
My small solution: start the app (even without gps and tracking) in a place with a connection and then deactivate it. Then all day in the mountains in the company of Oruxmaps  8)

hello, with the new 10.8.0beta1 it seems to me that the map display and movement is much slower and also it appears much darker. Is this just my impression?

ps my comparison is with the current GP on the same phone, sharing Openandromaps, DEM file and Elevate theme

New function beta9: tracks - property - 3 horizontal bars - see it on Google earth, does not work at all..

Google Earth starts but doesn't display anything. Other times it gives account error (the account on Orux is my phone gmail and synchronization with Sicami works fine)

Thanks for this new very useful feature 8)

In track property is possible to upload track on Sicami, Strava, VeloHero,..
Could it be possible to add Relive? https://www.relive.cc

If offers to share one's track and see it animated in three dimensions, including some of the photos taken along the way.

In new beta appears this adverting screen..
perhaps it could be better in upper left menu - news (envelope icon)?

Sorry, it was my Samsung's fault: clearing Google Play cache solved the problem! ;D

thank you for your interest Trompo, maybe I'm doing something simple wrong...
I am logged to G-drive as shown below to perform automatic backups.
If I start OruxmapsGP offline I get this screen error and Orux doesn't start. If I go back on line, it starts.

I set up automatic back-ups on Google Drive which obviously requires internet connection, but I found that if not present it does not let the application start.

Sometimes it happens to start Oruxmaps in mountainous areas with no connection, so it would be perhaps better if the app would still start and then, obviously, not back-up to G-drive.

thank you, very simple..now that it has been clearly explained to me! ;D
Oruxmaps does a lot, but it is not always intuitive to use and I thank very much people like you who give us useful answers in this Forum

Hi, a little help please: sometimes I need to merge two or more .gpx files into one .gpx file (for example to upload it to Strava and see it 3D).
To do this I use external web services (like https://gpx.studio/), but I would like to do it directly in Oruxmaps: how is it done?

If it's not possible it might be a useful new feature to implement....

GENERAL / Re: SICAMI TRACKS

Quote from: Tronpo on April 13, 2024, 11:27:06 PMTry this, do an altitude correction for that track, with the DEMs for example
And the resulting track tries to upload it to sicami, I just verified with extio.
Very good solution! Thanks!
