i am trying to use the desktop version from the site with no sucess.

I download the desktop version OruxMapsDesktop v.2.1.0beta (updated 30-nov-2013). after extracting the zip file I got the OruxMapsDesktop folder but activating the bat file in this directory do nothing. Any idea what should I check?

I have a detailed topogarfic map in either jpg or PDF. would like to use it and looking for a tool to  georreferenced the image

I DOWNLOAD MAPS AND POI FILE FROM openandromaps.org. I AM NOT ABLE TO IMPORT THE POI FILE EVEN THOUGH IT SHOULD BE COMPATIBLE TO ORUX. WILL BE HAPPY IF SOMEONE CAN GUIDE ME HOW TO MAKE THE IMPORT.

i am loading map & POI files from http://www.openandromaps.org">http://www.openandromaps.org. After unzip I am moving the *.map file to the mapfile dir but don't understand what to do with the *.POI file. I am not able to read it as a waypoints



Will be happy if someone can explain how to import the POI file
