in my GPS-App I let go the display off after an interval (adjustable). When I need to get the screen on again (to see the map) i hover/ move my hand over the display. So the distance control sensor, which turns the display off on a call, will recognise it and turns the display on again.
When I am cycling i don´t need to see the display all the time, but to turn the display on and off manually, i had to get it out off the raincover. thats very nasty. i think this would improve the battery duration a lot.
