#1 - this option is available already, you can either create the offline maps within the app (use the map creator feature under maps to create an offline map from any of the online map sources... You can select which layers to become part of the multi-layer offline map). Other options are MOBAC  or AndroMaps. See the MAPS! link on this website for more info. This is all in the manual as well.

#2 - you can ask Oruxmaps to record elevation for all tracks already. You can also download elevation information from multiple online sources if you do it after the fact.

GENERAL / Re: Maps folder is not in sd card

Quote from: "jeantout"Hello, I installed version 6.0 orux but the maps folder is not in the SD card but on the internal memory. what is what I can do?

The version of Android is 4.1.2

Thank you for your opinion

I'm not English and I use Google translation sorry

The maps folder can be easily changed within the app.  Simply complete the following steps:

 - Open the app, click on the top bar, and click on the "settings" button on the screen (3 little dots, top right of screen)

 - Click on "Global Settings"

 - Click on "Maps"

 - The top of the screen should now say "Maps Directory." This is where you can change the directory. Simply navigate through your file system (you should be able to get to storage/extSdCard)

 - Make sure you have created a folder on the MicroSD card before doing this, then you'll select this directory on the SD card by double tapping it

From there, you can go to maps - select maps - offline - hit refresh and all your maps should be there.

Oruxmaps = Awesome

Any chance that side buttons could be added for "Tweak KML Overlay" and "Load KML Overlay"?  I am looking to load a single KML with multiple layers at a time and the ability to "tweak" them to see different trail types would be very helpful. In reality, just a button for tweaking would be fine, as I will likely plan to just load a KML and leave it open all the time across different map types.

Let me know if its possible, if not I certainly understand. Thanks again for a great app.

Hi,

thanks;

But Oruxmaps doesn't support those features.

May be in a future version, but it will not be easy to implement.

Thanks for your reply, I understand that implementation can be quite difficult.

In the meantime, are there any options for controlling kml line width depending on altitude/zoom level with the kml overlay feature? I ask because I use a wide variety of zoom levels on my maps, and currently its not possible to find a kml width that isnt either too small at zoom level 14 or too wide at zoom level 8.

Let me know, obviously if its not possible I understand. Thanks again for the great app.

GENERAL / KML Styling Options?
October 18, 2014, 03:30:48 AM
Hello. New user to OruxMaps - absolutely love it. I have yet to see another mapping program on android or ios that comes close to its customization options while also fully supporting offline maps.

Question:

Can Orux support KML styling options as a part of the KML Overlay feature in the program? For example, the link below provides 3 options for enhancing the styling/formatting/width/appearance/etc. of KML files.

https://developers.google.com/kml/articles/draworder">//https://developers.google.com/kml/articles/draworder

I can re-write my own KML files and make these features work in Google Earth but they will not appear in OruxMaps.  Is this too complex of styling to build in as part of Orux or potentially an option for a future version?

Please let me know when you get a chance, thanks.
