GENERAL / Re: SICAMI TRACKS

Hello,
i like the Sicami App. I noticed within the app, there are google advertisements.
I fully understand there are development and server costs, money shall come in.
I wonder if a paid, ad-free version, of SICAMI is an option in the future?

Ok, on the App I know the changelog position, but not exists on Internet a location where I found the changelogs for ALL the OM releases?
Not existing.
Why are you not simply updating your the OruxMaps version to the latest GP 10.5.0 (currently)?
Why even thinking about "at least to 10"? And how/where would you get an outdated OruxMaps GP version, which contains bugs?

Your  8.5.5 from Google Playstore is too old.
Looking in the  changelog, i see:
mapsforge 0.17 came with v9.0.0 GP
mapsforge 0.19 came in some version between 9.0.0 GP and current 10.5.0GP

The features and numbering scheme of "Donate version" (latest 7.4.28 to download) are not in sync with version numbers in Google Playstore.

Hi,
the changelog does not show.
Simply use the current version from PlayStore (today 10.5.0), or latest 7.4.28 (as of  today) from https://www.oruxmaps.com/cs/en/more/downloads
Would recommend the Playstore version, nicely maintained.

ERRORES/BUGS / Re: External gps track logging problem

Hi,
i can't answer your question, but why are you using OruxMaps GP 9.0?
v10.5.0 GP is my current version.

Hi Ivan,
since you bought it at GooglePlay store, simply look again in Google Play for "OruxMaps GP", and install again.
Should be version 10.5.0GP
I bought it once, and use OruxMaps on my 2 phones, with the same gmail account.

BETAS / Re: WearOS
October 09, 2023, 02:26:29 PM
after seeing Ulis post, i checked now on my WearOS watch for updates.
And it updated to 0.0.23 of OruxMaps on my watch.
The main menue looks a bit different now, but as far as i see, no new functions.
I am still wondering of it would be possible to mirror offline maps from the phones OruxMaps, e.g. OpenAndroMaps/Elevate, to the WearOS watch.

Hello,
at https://sicami.com/en/login i read:
"If you already have an Oruxmaps account you can use it to access without creating a new one".

Should an username/password, which i use since a long time in the OruxMaps App, work at sicami.com?
Because i get an "These credentials do not match our records."

how about creating a seperate SICAMI thread here in category "GENERAL, and pinning it there?
SICAMI seems to replace the oruxmaps server soon.

Wolf,
after shortly tapping on the starting-point, inidcated as a flag symbol, i  see a rectangular square with" Date& Time" in it.
After tapping on that, i see more details about that point, incl. a symbol of an old-style floppy disk, where i can save GPX track onto filesystem or load it directly into the DB.
The screenshot, you are showing, pops up when i tap and hold somewhere on the map.
Maybe you need to zoom in more, to really hit the starting point.
Or maybe you press&hold the starting flag symbol, instead of only a short tap to see the starting point name in a rectangular field.

Hi,
Apologies for my partially, if not totally, unrelated question.
Since ~70% or our earth is covered by water, mainly ocean, i was wondering if some DEM data is available which models the ground "under sea level"?

EDIT: question came up at a bar. I was showing a friend OruxMaps with OpenAndroMaps, DEM/LiDAR files, BRouter,...
The friend is not only a biker, but also a diver and sailor ;-)

Interesting. On my 2 smart phones, this "Search POI, tap gesture" is NOT greyed out.

I just had a look on my tablet, which i use rarely to compare 7.4.26 with latest GP version running on my phone. And on that tablet the field is also greyed out.
Tablet and phone run both with comparable OruxMaps settings/profile.
Will now play a bit with that tablet...

maybe, in your case it is greyed out, because you have not selected an "Default POI offline database"?
Just above the "Search POI, tap gesture"
#15
why are you running such an old v7.0.2? The current version on Playstore is v9.0.4.
And which offline maps? OpenAndroMaps or something else?
