MEJORAS/NEW FEATURES / OpenGTS
July 28, 2015, 04:16:21 PM
Hi,

I have set up an OpenGTS server, for the same purpose as GpsGate, but sadly GpsGate doesn't run on linux.

http://opengts.sourceforge.net/">http://opengts.sourceforge.net/

I am already using Orux to record my tracks, and it would be great if Orux could also update my location in real-time via OpenGTS, instead of me running the Android client (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.opengts.client.android.cgtsfre&hl=en">https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... sfre&hl=en">https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.opengts.client.android.cgtsfre&hl=en) in parallel with Orux.

OpenGTS receives data via GPRMC at the following url http://domain.com:80080/gprmc/Data">http://domain.com:80080/gprmc/Data? , with a device ID (imei, AndroidID, or anything else).

I briefly tried to configure the Orux GpsGate.com integration module for OpenGTS, in case the NMEA and GPRMC protocols looked alike, but it didn't work.

Has anyone an idea on how to make the current version of Orux talk with an OpenGTS server? It says it is compatible with TAIP, GPSMapper, NetGPS, among others.

Of if the dev is reading this, is this a functionality that can be considered for the next release?

Thanks,

jb

Hi,

I often go trail running with my smartphone (Android 4.4.4, Motorola MotoG XT1068) and leave Orux record my track.

I have Orux and GPS Status installed. After GPS fix, I usually start the track recording and lock the screen over the Orux app. The recording works if I don't use my phone.

What happens is that sometimes, I take a photo with my smartphone, directly from the lockscreen (press power button once, swipe right --> camera appears, then press power button and camera disappears, screen still locked). This operation makes Orux instantly stop the GPS tracking and recording. To prevent it, I would need to unlock the screen, display the Orux app again, and lock the screen "over" the orux app. Which renders pointless the ability to quickly snap a photo from the lockscreen.

Has anyone else the same problem or an idea on how to avoid this?

Thanks,

jb
