Finally I bought a Moto e with android 5.0.2 to try to solve that strange bug!

Please, try this version (install, then go to settings--maps--zoom settings-> select 'Bug with zoom').

tell me if that solution works,

No, this solution does not not work for me and the app still always crashes when zooming.

The only workaround I found (a bit lousy, however) is to manually rotate the map and coming back with the orientation (but not exactly aligning as a startup, otherwise the workaround does not work). In that case, you can zoom whenever and whatever you want and the app never crashes.

Again, pay attention that the problem is with both Motorola MotoG and Android Marshmallow 6.0, not with 5.0.x.

Please, solve it. Many thanks.

Hello,

confirm that you are testing the beta version, not the market version, and the 'bug checkbox' is selected, because there are reports about MotoG + android 6.0 working with the last fix,

Sorry: I was not testing the beta version (and relevant "bug checkbox") because I did not understand that the app installed in a separate environment, called "oruxmapsbeta". Thus, actually I was still being testing the standard 6.5.0 version by launching it from the usual desktop view of my phone.

I just realize that of late, when you asked to me yesterday whether the "bug checkbox" was actually checked and I was not really able to find out it. At that point I had a look inside the installed apps and I found out (not in the desktop view but in the installed app view) that another app called "oruxmapsbeta" was really installed.

I then duplicated the environment, including DEMs, Offline Maps and the like and now I can confirm that the app does not crash anymore by zooming even though you do not rotate the map at the beginning.

Very good achievement.

Thank you very much indeed.  :)

Quote from: "rouncil"Yes, I have just upgraded to Android 6 on Motorola MotoG (3rd gen) and have exactly the same problem.Zooming with buttons or finger causes Oruxmaps to crash. Sometimes it will zoom up once on the button but crashes on the second press. This occurs with both the production version and the beta at http://www.oruxmaps.com/OruxMaps6.5.4beta4c.apk">http://www.oruxmaps.com/OruxMaps6.5.4beta4c.apk (but About says version 6.5.0).

I've just done some further checks and the problem only seems to apply to offline maps; the OS Street View 1:10000 (UK) seems to zooming okay.

I knew upgrading the Android 6 wasn't a good idea!!!

A solution would be most welcome.

Also for me the same problem: Moto G, Version APK 6.0.5 of Oruxmaps.

Luckily, when I installed Android 5.1 Lollipop the problem disappeared.

Strongly unluckily, several days ago the phone build updated to Android Marshmallow 6.0 and the problem is there over again, damn !!! Please, solve it.

ERRORES/BUGS / Possible bug importing GPX tracks
October 31, 2015, 12:29:15 PM
Dear Sir,

I am an happy user of OM since two years. Now, I seem to have met a bug, possibly in last version update or simply because I swapped from Jelly Bean to Lollipop by changing phone.

Possible bug

The supposed misbehavior is as follows:

1) go in Manage track/routes

2) press lowest rightmost button to import a GPX file

3) the file manager misbehaves because cannot allow to select the checkboxes of the files, due to the appearance of a obnoxious blue vertical sliding cursor that impairs that

4) however, if you change to "grid view" instead of "list view", you still cannot load the rightwards files, but you can load the leftwards files, because the blue impairing blue cursor is only on the right side, not in the middle
