ok more experimenting

i guess it has something to do with the zoom level
zoom out i get red dots  zoom in icons show up
i can work with this just fine

ok tried some experimenting

if i load the kml file from google earth as a Routes/Waypoints the icons show
if i load as an overlay no icons
what am i missing?

tried "no icons" checked and unchecked--no change

loaded the new beta version and didn't realize the old version was still installed



the beta version seems to have fixed the above problems

gpx tracks not displaying properly solved-sort of



problem is in the joining of tracks from different time periods in basecamp

orux 6 seemed to be able to parse the gpx without a problem

orux 7 must parse the gpx files differently



in basecamp i created a route from the track and then a track from the route

this strips the time and altitude info



now displays properly in orux 7-except the colored path with slope doesn't work because no altitude info

single touch of screen pops up a menu of maps

would like to be able to toggle off/on

android 7.0



still can't all .gpx tracks to load properly

sometimes only part of track loads sometimes nothing at all

these are exported from basecamp as .gpx

convert .gpx to .kml with gpsbabel they show up

had the same problem. under maps/map settings i reset the raster cache. started showing the map again. give it a few seconds when you look at the map again-it takes a little time to reload all the info.

so this is wierd

in basecamp i inverted the track that didn't work in oruxmaps and now it works

inverted it again and it doesn't work

some .gpx tracks show on map and some don't

all worked under 6.5.10

ran track thru gpsbabel converting to kml and stripping points

now will show up on map



as background-i create my tracks with oruxmaps-import into basecamp for managing and then export them as gpx

looked at one that worked and one that didn't with text editor and didn't see anything that looked different in header or structure

any ideas?

2 problems i have found

1) menu/tools/GPS Status no longer brings up GPS Status & Tools

                 if i start the gps app first & then try it , it flashes for a second & then gone



2) start gps/start recording

          shows the track as i travel/stop recording & shows message track was saved

          try to retrieve track and not there

          after many changes to settings i found that if i checked ask track name everything worked as before

          go figure
