Elevation gain is always a difficult measurement. Even specialized watches like Garmin have a hard time doing a proper measurement.

With gps it is even more difficult. I see that the results measured with orux on my huawai are about 30% too much.

I wonder if this can be improved if DEM info can be used for elevation gain measurement!?

Accuracy could improved even more if the track on the map is used as a reference (aligned with the recorded track), so left right movement is eliminated...



Anyone else having accuracy issues?

Okay, the 14 works alright. At least what I can say after testing it briefly.

Cannot tell anything about power consumption yet.

I own a P10 Lite with latest stock FW. Android 7 / Emui 5.1.1. Alas the streight lines doesn't go awai with orux 7.2.13 and all the proposed settings.

Anything I can do to narrow down the problem?

Since GPS information is very inaccurate for elevation, it would be nice to make more use of the DEM data.

Afaik it is only used for map shading and to display elevation height under the cursor.

Imho it would be especially useful for slope calculations and for tracking elevation gain/loss calculations which are both far off using GPS.
