Follow a route should not lead to a increase in battery consumption.
Does it always happen to you?
Your GPS settings? Is it a very long route?
Screen always on?

Route was about 55 km and display always on (brightness 60-70%). GPS settings are out-of-the-box, so haven't touched those.
I tried today another ride with the new 7.1.2 version and during a 1.5h ride the battery went from 65% to 45% but maybe that is more normal regards battery consumption?
