I think, this Huawei-thing is making orux crazy. Very sorry for that. But I really like Oruxmaps a lot more than it's competitors!



So, when I switched from the P9 lite running Android 7 to my new P10 with Android I was hoping, that it will work.



Whatever I did, it failed. After a random time, the Huawei Power Management shuts oruxmaps down - using older and current versions, using and not using Fused Locations provider, the huawei bug checkbox (.12beta), using automatic starting of the programs, manuel starting, allowing "ignore battery optimization...



Today I tested the widget-on-the-Homescreen-thing by olwaldi - Well, recording for hours with no straight lines.  :shock:



Currently I am running my P10 with Android 8.0.0, EMUI 8.0.0 (VTR-L09 8.0.0.379(C02)

Using the current oruxmaps Donate Version .14

"ignore battery optimization"  --> allowed

"battery" - "start" - "manage automatically" (sorry, I don't know the real menu name, as I am using the german version)

"Oruxmaps widget" placed on the homescreen, it doesn' matter, on which page it is. I don't even have to start the app via widget. It only has to be there...  :?



Maybe this information detected by olwaldi helps to improve oruxmaps to work without the widget?

Although it is an easy and very acceptable workaround.  :mrgreen:

have you tried one of the last versions orux postetd here?



Especially try to check the option "Fused Locations provider" unter Settings - Sensor - GPS



Additionally check all the power saving options of your device. Sometimes (e.g. Huawei devices) these options are incomprehensibly hidden.



This helped some people here already.

Today I tested my phone with none of the new options ("FLP" / "Huawei Bug") checked.

It still worked really good. No straight lines.

I tested today the 7.2.13c again with the p10 (not lite) "FLP" unchecked and "huawei bug" checked.

It worked pretty well.  :ugeek:

I tested the new setting WITH "Fused Loacations Provider" already checked.   :?



I will try it today again without the "Fused Locations Provider" checked and give you another feedback.

I just upgraded my Huawei P9lite to the Huawei P10 (VTR.L09) with Android 7.0 and EMUI 5.1 - unfortunately the oreo update is currently not available for my phone.  :cry:



I tested some Versions of the latests orux releases:

7.1.12b --> works

7.1.12c --> doesn't work

7.1.13c --> works with AND without the new "Huawei setting" checked. strange. tested each for approxamately 15 minutes.  :twisted:



I really appreciate your work on this app. It is great, how fast and seriously you take care of our problems! Many Thanks!

many thanks for your quick response and the .12beta apk.

I just tested it for 45 minutes in the background / switched off Display.



It works great. No straight lines.



I think, the change you have done was the right one.

I am "that" friend of pumphutt.



It is totally strange, that the "Fused Locations Provider" works in the older .10 and not in the .12 version.



I will give these beta you have linked a try and send you a feedback as soon as I have tested it.
