Can anyone tell me is it only via APRS-IS or can it communicate via serial or Bluetooth for positions or packets? I use my GPS receiver offline primary and having the ability to locate other stations using RF (no Internet) would be very useful.
I'm using a Garmin handheld receiver at the moment and my APRS radio modem provides NMEA data via a RS232 cable (could easily add a RS232<->Bluetooth adapter) that it places as waypoints. So native APRS AX.25 functionality isn't strictly necessary.
