Unexpected Away from Route alarm

Recently started using Oruxmaps on my Android phone, and I am finding it great.

I am basically using it to follow routes created on the Fugawi UK OS 1:50,000 desktop software.

However, I have one problem that I find irritating:

If the route turns a corner (anything more than about 70 degrees), the away from route alarm sounds  80m after making the turn, and keeps sounding until I am 160m from the turn [80m and 160m are the min and max distances I have selected for route alarms].

If I check my GPS position, it is bang on the route.  So why am I getting an alarm?  I want it to tell me when I really am off the route, but not every time the route turns a corner.

i have a Problem:

e.g. i create a simple route with 2 Points.

The Distance between this Point is 1000m.

Route Alarm is set to 40m.

I follow this Route.

My Position is excactly between my Points, perfect on Course(XTE=0)



Now i get always "To far from route!" Alarm



Seem so that Orux measures the Distance to the next Point(500m),

instead the Distance to the Line between this Points.



For me it would better if i only get an Alarm, if XTE(crosstrack error) is to high.



Or did i something wrong? :?:



BTW: A Userfield XTE would be nice

OruxMaps measures the distance to the line, not the distance to the next wpt.



Are you using the market version or the last beta version?

Not sure if it is a problem of precision (are you sure that you are exactly between the points?) and you can test with a different value of route alarm distance.



Or try with the last beta, bacuase I think I have introduced some changes measuring the distance to the path.



There is a XTE field available, but it only works in Wpt. navigation mode.

Idea when this beta is the official Version?

Can i install the Beta parallel to my Donation Version?

Hi, you use both versions simultaneous.



The new version will be released in 2/3 weeks,

Today I did a long mtb tour with the latest Orux beta.following the route with route alarm has worked like a charm.



I have one or two future requests, but I create a separate threat for that....
