garmin img resolution/layers

I render my own maps in gmap.img format (using mkgmap) & use them on Orux with a Duraforce phone.  I noticed that when I zoom in it skips from detail level 3 (resolution 18) to level 1 (resolution 22).   Does Orux have a limitation, and only uses some of the detail levels?   It would help to know what the limitation is.   Thanks
