hola.

With direct mapping OruxMaps functions to buttons and turn off touch screen functionality.

it would be good!

I tried some types of it.

-the zoom by volume button is ok (keycode 24, 25),

-map move is problematic (mouse mode uncomfortable: push the button and joystick same time, and game mode: some controller can't to do)

the minimal features would be very useful on bikes and motorbikes!

-zoom in-out,

-move map to 4 directions,

-maybe: map change (detailed-less detailed)

For sailors too.

And, of course, turning off the touchscreen - in case of rain.

I do not have so Android experience, but I mean that a end user may map hardware buttons to Android keys by edit a key layout file. On rooted device, of course. See https://source.android.com/devices/input/key-layout-files">this, https://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/KeyEvent.html">this and http://www.thriveforums.org/forum/toshiba-thrive-development/9626-how-create-customized-keylayout-any-usb-bluetooth-keyboard-rooted.html">this.

Zooming by a gamepad buttons in OruxMaps work for me.

Orux can assign specific actions to some Android keys, and documented it. Users can map hardware buttons on their devices to Android keys by themselves.

Now used VOLUME_UP and VOLUME_DOWN Android key codes - mapping it to gamepad knobs are works. Also is a "Trackball scroll" menu option - what Android axis it use?

I bought this:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Mocute-Bluetooth-Remote-Control-VR-Controller-Gamepad-Joystick-Wireless-Android-VR-Game-Pad-for-3D-Virtual/32758382392.html">

This is a cheap plastic construction with dangling buttons and schizoid key defaults, but on mouse mode it works in OruxMaps satisfactorily: "out of the box" works a zoom and map shifting.

But as mouse it's a very bad.

I bought this:

Heh! It's real chinese device:

# cat /proc/bus/input/devices

...

I: Bus=0005 Vendor=0000 Product=0000 Version=0000

N: Name="VR-PARK"

P: Phys=

...

Also, the device has 4 buttons, not 6. Front buttons are same as "A" and "B".

I remember someone wrote about key remapping in orux sw but i can't find it ...

My question:

can I change the command-action logical line in orux?

eg Can I do it: the gamepad send key 24> orux zoom in 1 step

Thx any help!
