Hello Orux:

Thanks to the button panels and the sideboard, we have access to a wide variety of functions (depending on the interface, more or fewer taps). However, since each user is unique and OruxMaps (fortunately) offers a multitude of configurations, it would be very convenient to have a "quick access" button. This button should be configured by the user. The idea is to have a button (with 3/4 quick accesses) for configurations that do not have a specific button. This way, with a couple of clicks, you can activate a function or tool.

Here are some examples:

View area / line towards where you are looking / line to the last point. It takes 5/6 taps to get there.
It could also be used to group existing buttons that the user uses sporadically but needs to have on the button panels. If you can group, for example, 3 buttons, it frees up space on the button panel (costing only one extra click, and we don't break the 3-click rule), giving more space to other buttons of greater use or need.

Another alternative for quick access would be for the app to remember (or for the user to configure) the most used settings, creating an access for them on the sideboard, for example (as some file managers do). For example, some people manage several DEM files, classified by folders (for reasons of weight and app agility). Every time they plan or carry out activities in an area, they have to go to Settings > App storage > DEM files and select the folder. If it is a common operation for the user, the app could remember and offer quick access to the DEM configuration directly, either on the sideboard or at the top of the settings screen, preferably

Best regards!!

I absolutely support your suggestion, Tronpo.
To combine several settings in one button would be really great. I e.g. often use 'cursor to bottom' + 'view angle' + 'map mode orientated to compass'.
Grouping existing buttons makes overlay or track handling much easier.
