best way to convert lage maps?

Hello,

I have some lager maps that I want to use with oruxmaps. One map I'm trying to convert is about 100000x100000 pixel. It fails in OruxMapsDesktop with the warning "An error occurred while generating images!" When cutting the large map into smaller parts (about 30000x30000pix) converting with OruxMapsDesktop works, but it takes several hours to finish.

Can you please give me some hints how to convert maps (from GeoTiff) to Orux?

Hi;

Java is not the best for managin large images; have you tried with okmap.org ?
