Hello,

I discovered that location of dem and mapfiles directories can be changed.

After some tries, I was able to validate my changes and everything was fine.

After an application update, my maps were still well found in my changed directory,

BUT a new mapfiles (and dem) directory was created in oruxmaps directory.

So, a new onlinemapssources.xml was created and used and my updated onlinemapssources.xml was no more used.

The fix was to replace the new onlinemapssources.xml by my version.

It means that if you move dem and mapfiles to a new location, you still need to have a small oruxmaps/mapfiles directory for retrieving the onlinemapssources.xml file.

Perhaps the update process could retrieve the mapfiles location from user settings?

This is a minor drawback and Oruxmaps is a great application!

Hi;

some critical files must be in that directory.

you can move the map files, but not the xml files and others.

this is to avoid problems with removable devices, strange access permissions in some android versions,...

when android become stable about the external storage, I will let move all directories
