Thanks for the prompt reply

I see the reference to OM versions has been updated since I last looked at the Elevate 2 explanatory text - that's very helpful

Yes, sorry, I thought that it would be clear that a version with 6.0.anything like 6.0.10 is still even it is released later still has not the features of 6.4beta and later.

Elevate 2 and 3 have been updated. The major changes are only visible with OpenAndroMaps starting with October 2015. Among smaller changes these are the most prominent ones:

Low zooms are much more usable now, including state and mountain range names. Larger areas of interest and their captions appear earlier, smaller later.

For better visibility some highway colors have been changed, most prominently: (inter)national cycling routes are now violet, regional are red.

And a lot of smaller changes to optimize behaviour at different zoom levels.

All changes:

3.1.0 08/10/15

- low zoom areas are now much more usable: names for states and mountain ranges/areas are displayed, names of lakes/glaciers/woods/mountain ranges/protected for larger areas are displayed earlier and for smaller areas later (differs for city style)

- it's easier to distinguish between routes and highways as colors are optimized: (inter)national cycling routes are now violet, regional are red (already changed mtb routes and colors of major highways in earlier versions)

- improved Elements: limited symbols and captions somewhat to make low zooms less random and more usable

- added place=state, natural=mountain_range, natural=mountain_area for low zooms, bboxweight for poly_labels, zoom-min for ditch/stream/drain/river/canal/railway/pier/runway/apron/taxiway, different colors for some landscape names, small ford symbol for Elements low zooms

- changed rendering of settlement names, zoom-min for island captions/forest areas, low zoom hiking/cycling routes, captions & rendering of protected areas

- fixed rendering of low zoom motorway tunnels, volcano low zoom captions

2.6.0 08/10/15

- low zoom areas are now much more usable: names for states and mountain ranges/areas are displayed, names of lakes/glaciers/woods/mountain ranges/protected for larger areas are displayed earlier and for smaller areas later (differs for Elegant)

- it's easier to distinguish between routes and highways as colors are optimized: (inter)national cycling routes are now violet, regional are red (already changed mtb routes and colors of major highways in earlier versions)

- added place=state, natural=mountain_range, natural=mountain_area for low zooms, bboxweight for poly_labels, different colors for some landscape names, small ford symbol for Elements low zooms

- changed rendering of settlement names, zoom-min for island captions/forest areas, low zoom hiking/cycling routes, captions & rendering of protected areas

- fixed rendering of low zoom motorway tunnels, volcano low zoom captions

Once again a small update for Elevate 2 and 3. Some new symbols, apart from that mainly optimizations.

3.1.1 10/11/15

- optimized SVG symbols, rerendered PNG symbols

- changed rendering of tracks, rendering of routes at ZL 12+13, color of contour lines, rendering of pipelines

- added shop=travel_agency, new symbol for pub, amenity=bar

2.6.1 10/11/15

- rerendered PNG symbols on optimized Elevate 3 SVG symbol basis

- changed rendering of tracks, rendering of routes at ZL 12+13, color of contour lines, rendering of pipelines

- added shop=travel_agency, new symbol for pub, amenity=bar

Elevate 2 and 3 have been updated. Mainly changes/additions in landuse captions. Elevate 3 adds in cycling style a marker for oneway streets where cycling is allowed in opposite direction (with OAM maps from January 2016 on).

3.1.2 10/01/16

- added oneway:bicycle=no for cycling style (turquoise arrow added where cycling is allowed in opposite direction of oneway streets), name captions in city style for retail/commercial/industrial/brownfield/garages/construction/greenfield, name caption for residential/farmyard/farm landuses

- changed ZL for high zoom forest/wood/desert captions

2.6.2 10/01/16

- added name caption for residential/farmyard/farm landuses

- changed ZL for high zoom forest/wood/desert captions

With the update of OruxMaps to version 6.5.0 Elevate 3 finally works with the playstore version. So anyone who didn't use the beta/release candidates can use this much improved version.

The big improvements of Elevate 3.0 are:

- Map styles are now integrated in one theme file, this means hiking/cycling/city can now be selected directly, only Elements needs another theme file. The map styles differ more than before.

- Overlays make it possible to switch on or off of different elements, e.g. captions, symbols, protected areas etc.

- Additional overlays are showing now better visible and emphasized hiking or cycling routes or are a public transport network is shown.

- Priorities make it possible that settlement names and important symbols are shown much more reliably.

- A version with SVG-symbols is now scalable for all kinds of devices. The size variants are now only necessary because the glow of symbols there makes them easier to see.

- Elements now supports all map styles as in Elevate with hiking, city or cycling. The difference is that everything is shown as soon it is contained in the map data.

A new small update of Elevate 2 and 3. Mainly finetuning/fixes for path/cycleway/footway rendering.

3.1.3 09/02/16

- limited bicycle=no marking to relevant highways in cycling style

- restructured path rendering rules, fixed some missing trail_visibility information for path/footway without sac_scale in hiking style, fixed color for cycleway with foot=yes without surface information in hiking

- added bicycle access information for path/footway in hiking/city style, added weak priority for ele captions, leisure=picnic_table

- Locus: moved most captions for symbols to zoom level 17 and higher because of missing priorities/different collision management/missing dy on areas in Locus

2.6.3 09/02/16

- limited bicycle=no marking to relevant highways in cycling style

- restructured path rendering rules, fixed some missing trail_visibility information for path/footway without sac_scale in hiking style, fixed color for cycleway with foot=yes without surface information in hiking

- added bicycle access information for path/footway in hiking/city style, leisure=picnic_table

eartrumpet

There was a problem with some footways in the last version, therefore I made a new one.

3.1.4 09/02/16

- fixed path/footway rendering rules

2.6.4 09/02/16

- fixed path/footway rendering rules

Elevate 3 and 2 have been updated. As announced before Elevate 2 will from now on only get additons which aren't too complex.

The major changes for Elevate 3 are optimized low and very low zooms incl. markers for cities/capitals, rendering of crevasses in glaciers and better captions for small SVG symbols.

3.1.5 07/03/16

- added caravan_site to low zoom markers, border for admin_level=3, natural=crevasse, low zoom markers for cities/capitals

- changed admin borders, rendering of some place names, rendering of low zoom (inter)national routes, moved low zoom highways to level 11 and lower, reduced caption/symbol distance for small SVG symbols (non-Locus), optimized very low zooms

- corrected spanish translation for overlay menus

- Locus: moved protected area borders to zoom level 16 because of rendering issue

2.6.5 07/03/16

- added caravan_site to low zoom markers, border for admin_level=3, natural=crevasse

- changed admin borders

eartrumpet

A small update to adapt Elevate for the new optimized tagmapping for maps mid march and later, and some small corrections/optimizations.

3.1.6 16/03/16

- changed leisure=track to leisure=ls_track, larger symbol/earlier ZL for amenity=bus_station

- corrected SVG scale factor for public transport network stations, removed SVG scaling in Locus PNG versions

- removed leisure=ls_track from highways/tourism, moved highway=raceway upwards, moved residential landuse etc. to level 12+

2.6.6 16/03/16

- changed leisure=track to leisure=ls_track, larger symbol/earlier ZL for amenity=bus_station

- removed leisure=ls_track from highways/tourism, moved highway=raceway upwards, moved residential landuse etc. to level 12+

Betatest Elevate 4

With the major change to scalable graphics in the last test version I made the step to offer only one scalable version and have tested and adjusted this accordingly with several screen densities. This is one reason for a major new version number, therefore I now release the first test version of Elevate 4.

Another big change concerns routes: now national and international routes have seperate colors, which led to change all colors so that they now match those that are used for hiking routes in some areas. As cycling and hiking routes don't appear in the same map style anymore (as in Elements 2) both now use the same colors.

4.0 beta 03/05/16

- one size only: SVG version which scales with screen density is now default (instead of various sizes, removed those)

- Locus: added "dp" to all values for adjusting to screen density

- new SVG patterns that scale with screen density, changed pattern zoom behaviour

- reworked routes: new unified colors for hiking and cycling routes, seperate colors for international and national routes, new low zoom rendering for hiking routes on paths, optimized route rendering

- added tourism=apartment, zoom-min to some bridges and tunnels, extra pattern colors for access=private (orange) and access=no (red)

- changed low zoom captions, cycle and hike nodes, captions for protected areas, symbol for tourism=chalet, cliff rendering, motorway_junction caption, high zoom hiking routes on cycleways, access patterns

- limited capital to certain places, removed sled pistes from cycling mapstyle

Sorry only in German for Tobias:

Hallo Tobias,

http://www.oruxmaps.com/foro/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3474&start=90#p9064">http://www.oruxmaps.com/foro/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3474&start=90#p9064

Entweder Beta 10 oder 6.5.0 benutzen, oder auf den Bugfix warten.

Viele Grüße,

Tobias

Hallo Tobias,

danke für die schnelle Antwort.

José wird daß sicherlich bald fixen. Ich benutze solange die 2er elevate Version.
