Garmin .img file use

I am new to Oruxmaps and also this forum.  I couldn't find anything in a search to answer this, so...



Since I own a Garmin GPS which I have several unlocked maps for, can I copy a gmapsupp.img or a gmapprom.img file to my Android table which is running Oruxmaps?

I read somewhere that you could so by creating a Garmin folder in oruxmaps/mapfiles and copy the.img file to there.  So I did that part.

Then it went on to say that in Orux, under the Maps menu, choose Switch Map and then select "gmapsupp".  I did that also.

However the display is white with no visible map.  Does anyone know if that info was incorrect, or did I miss a step or do something wrong?



I also read that a "raw" Garmin unlocked map is not readable by Orux.  So i am guess if the first part is not working then this second "theory" is probably correct?  Can MapSource be used to create a map from the Garmin map that is usable in Orux?

OruxMaps does not work with recent original garmin maps (locked or unlocked). They use a new unknown format.

Hi!



I will get this topic for one more problem about garmin .img.



I have on my phone installed OruxMaps 5.5.22 and it's working great with online and offline maps.



Problem is with .img(ADRIA TOPO)... When i change to this map it is shown but after browsing(scroll, zoom-in and zoom-out) on this map, the application crashed. Do you have any idea whats wrong? Can i see any logs what can go wrong in this case?

Just wanted to say that I am able to upload my custom made Garmin .img maps and Orux displays them just fine

I created a Garmin folder folder under the mapfiles folder and dropped a couple custom maps into the folder

Pisgah_dupont.img and Topo.img are the file names

Click - Switch Map
