One feature missing that would most interest is the ability to import a value of position coordinates and geolocation maybe in immediate form by SMS, email, and programs such as Whatsapp, Viber ect, or even to be able to write, converting the data geodifica of googlemap and creating a waypoint. Is there a way to do it?

For example I have seen that programs like AndroidTS GPS Test, allow this possibility.

What is being done right now in Orux, but in output as a share of the data.

It could thus allow to see on our map, even offline position that was sent to us by someone.

Think of a use of this feature in mountain areas or problems of search and rescue of people or just to be among friends.

To be restricted to using only googlemap not good, but is more complete use cards based on OpenStreetMap data, often the most comprehensive geographic information

Thanks to all  ;)

Hi Orux

The function that I mentioned above, I verified that there is and it also works offline on LocusMap as able to recognize the google geocoding addresses,

such as:http://maps.google.com/maps?q=coordinate">http://maps.google.com/maps?q=coordinate geographical

example: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=38.7903219,15.2152198">//http://maps.google.com/maps?q=38.7903219,15.2152198

And maybe they are also interpreted coordinates sent in this format:

https://www.google.it/maps/">https://www.google.it/maps/@ coordinate geographical

example: https://www.google.it/maps/@40.1813103,9.5246132,12z">//https://www.google.it/maps/@40.1813103,9.5246132,12z

There is in my opinion some incongruity in the function of create a waypoint.

Because it is only possible to create a point at, different from those of this map below, only inputting handwriting geographic coordinates.

The other possibilities present in all waypoints created only at the point of this map below.

In conclusion it would be a very useful function that creates a waypoint "on the fly"

Best regards  ;)

Hi,

yes; it is possible.

I am going to add this feature in next version.

Hi,

I do not understand what do you mean.

You have several ways to create a wpt:

--in the center position of the map

--at any position of the map, after scrollong the map to that position

--if you know the coordinates, anywhere

--if you know a bearing and a distance from another point.

How can I create a waypoint using an intent?

I want to use tasker for this

vancori

I meant to say "On the fly" in GIS terms, for immediate conversion between different datums. In this case the googlemaps geocoding.

Yes, I can create a waypoint in different ways, but to create it in a different place from the center of the map, I can only use handwriting known coordinates.

For that would be useful to integrate the function to recognize, even in offline mode, a location sent as SMS, email, whatsapp and more, and to see it was as a waypoint on the map, as it does now Locusmap ...

But OruxMaps is the best! we look forward...  ;)

Hi

You can try with last beta, this version can catch http://maps.google.com/maps?q=lat,lon">http://maps.google.com/maps?q=lat,lon urls and create a wpt from different sources.

Great Orux, always quick to resolve any problems!  ;)  Now it works and recognizes addresses like

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=lat,lon">http://maps.google.com/maps?q=lat,lon and the waypoint is created perfectly even in offline mode  :D

For Whatsapp, Viber etc .. you are near to the solution. It is recognized OruxMaps in the list of available programs, it starts, but does not create a waypoint...

vancori

Thanks Orux for the your beta update. At the moment, however, is only recognized the url http://maps.google.com/maps?q=lat,lon">http://maps.google.com/maps?q=lat,lon

Instead it is a bug, from Whatsapp, Viber, ect .. where OruxMaps is recognized among the app available, it starts, but does not create the waypoint at the point of coordinates required.

Best regards  :)

I realized that Oruxmaps not recognize again that addresses itself exports

but they are only recognized by Googlemaps app

example:

geo:45.83256697951796,6.864287853240967,4783.86669921875

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=45.83256697951796,6.864287853240967">http://maps.google.com/maps?q=45.832566 ... 7853240967">http://maps.google.com/maps?q=45.83256697951796,6.864287853240967

I have a question. How and where do you put the coordinates to create a waypoint? Its for search and rescue purposes. If I find a missing person and I want to let everybody know my position, what do they have to do? I know that I need to tell them my coordinate.

Thanky ou for your answer!

kerékjoe

If you mean two question:

1.

upper menu line > wp menu > create wp > check box coordinates > modify the actual lat/lon values to wanted > save it

2.

upper menu > map menu > share position > choice sending mode (the simplier the sms for created group)  > everybody can open it in orux, and can see  your position
