The new outdoor season starts and I wasn't totally satisfied with the different available gps apps.

I went on search and I found My Maps from google, https://www.google.com/mymaps">https://www.google.com/mymaps

The main advantage is, you get the same aerial view like google earth, and you can export your track very fast, and import it in google earth ( GPS - import from file).

My Maps saves your tracks in separate maps / layers on your google drive.

I'm curious what your opinions are about track making apps.

Brouter (offline, called from within OruxMaps) works OK once everything is installed and configured, but I prefer to create my (hiking) routes here:

When the tracks are ready to use, it is preferably to see them on the same map ( google maps ) on the gps device.

There is a possibility on a smartphone ( google maps ), but I can't find the load track function in that app.

Another possibilty is, to load pre-manufactured offline maps in oruxmaps.

To get tiles from zoomlevel 0 - 12 is realizable.

Above zoomlevel 12 you need to work with continents, countries, regions.

Is there any interest in google maps, if yes to which extent ( zoomlevel, continents )?

I'm using GPSies.com. It have a big community and the main-advantage I see, is to plan with a "vector-follower" (GraphHopper).
