Hi Orux

Is it possible to store the online map cache on an external SD Card  (as we can for the Offline Maps )   ?   This would be really useful as internal memory is always under pressure. .  . .

If not, is this something that may happen in a future version - or is it made difficult by the Android system controls on SDCard use ?

(Running Android KitKat 4.4.2,  Sony Xperia  E3)

Thanks

problem with storing data to sd card is in android kitkat, not in oruxmaps. preinstalled apps that came with phone (system apps) have read/write permissions for sd card and all other apps installed by user have only read permissions. that is pretty much stupid, but that is how things works in kitkat.

there are two solutions;

1. to root your phone and then "unlock" sd card for all apps, which is simple thing after root; or

2. to get your phone updated to android lollipop, of course, if there is any update.

Lollipop allows apps to save maps on sdcard, but Oruxmaps does not allow me to save the maps in a custom folder on the sdcard. Will this be allowed in future release?
