With the latest betas the map menu now has 16 items, of which I personally only use 6 of them and have to scroll and find those there.

Maybe it would be good to offer customization for it, similar to Global settings>User interface>Dashboard>User interface?

The other menus are less crowded, but it wouldn't hurt to have this option too.

I agree with the problem, not quite sure about the solution that would make the options even more crowded.



IMHO the right way would be to embrace a more modern design, with a slide-out side drawer that gives direct access to the most used features. Of course everybody has his own idea of "most used", but I think that "switch map here", "Mapsforge theme", "tweak theme options" and a dynamic list of nearby waypoints and routes/tracks are the likely candidates that would be useful for everybody.
