Used quite a bit Beta10 for a couple of days on the field. I find the black icons hard to read, even with the red background. White on red in regular mode is much more readable.

Side buttons seem to work more reliably now. The top menu bar doesn't. I cannot reproduce it regularly, but it happened more than once that when I tap on top of the screen to show the button bar it appears for a second or two and then it slides out again.

Another bug, this time I can reproduce it, is about the "go back twice to exit the program". Go in immersive mode, swipe from bottom to reveal the system buttons, tap the back arrow twice. Then open the app again. The bottom of the screen will be black. Tap the home button, then relaunch OruxMaps and it will work again. Another thing I noticed when exiting this way is that the app isn't really closed. It is evident if you switch language, because when you change it for the second time it doesn't work. If I terminate the app an launch again then it works correctly. BTW, I believe that the app should restart itself rather than telling the user to do it.

Other than that, rock solid.

I use Oruxmaps for a month and it would be great if You introduce the possibility to change the color of each waypoint. The waypoints have their personal menu, and there can be menu item "change color of text"

I was trying to play with the addons feature but no luck. Where am I supposed to store my addon and in what form?

For me it's "sdcard0/oruxmaps/addons", subfolder contains the necessary files.

I don't have that folder. I tried creating it manually, but it doesn't work.

Hi Orux,

There are some new developments in mapsforge maps which would be great to have supported in OruxMaps:

Christian plans to introduce multilingual maps on OpenAndroMaps, but these require mapsforge 0.6 - are you planing to support this?

Here's a map for testing: http://www.openandromaps.org/mapsV4/asia/israel_syria_ml.map">http://www.openandromaps.org/mapsV4/asi ... ria_ml.map">http://www.openandromaps.org/mapsV4/asia/israel_syria_ml.map

He's also working on POI databases for mapsforge, which is a feature currently being developed:

What also would be great is label layer support in mapsforge, see http://www.oruxmaps.com/foro/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3482">this thread.

There's also a bug when I select a mapsforge theme with disabled selectable overlays (like Elevate/Elements) - at first all overlays are visible, and are only disabled if I use "tweak mapsforge theme".

Best regards,

Tobias

Hi,

yes, I will support the 0.6 version in the next beta series, after a new release.

Thanks, sounds great!

What about the overlay issue, can this be fixed for the next release?

When I switch from one mapsforge theme to another, which contains several overlays (like Elevate/Elements), of which not all are enabled (or not even active in the selected mapstyle), all possible overlays are enabled at first. I have to use "tweak mapsforge theme" to see it like it's supposed.

Here's a example:

After switching to the theme, I get this view with everything enabled (although only hiking routes should be seen and no symbols, as everything else is disabled):

After using "tweak mapsforge theme" (without changing overlay/mapstyle configuration, but you have to change at least one item to remove the faulty view):

This only happens in OruxMaps, not in other apps which support V4 themes.

Hello, Tobias;

I have found that different themes (different xml files) use the same 'ID' for the theme (r4menu). I am using some example code that uses that 'ID' as an unique identifier for the theme. Is that correct?

The app uses that 'ID' to persist the theme settings. Because of that, if you load a new theme with the same 'ID', there is a error if the new theme doesn't contains the same style (and the default overlay settings are used) meanwhile you don't go to the theme settings.

I can use another ID, the xml file name for example, but the users will lose current settings next update.

Hi Orux,

thanks for the hint about the stylemenu ID.

The https://github.com/mapsforge/mapsforge/blob/master/docs/Rendertheme.md">rendertheme documentation uses <stylemenu id="r4menu" defaultvalue="terrain" defaultlang="en">, so I and others just copied that. As the stylemenu id plays no role in the theme itself I left it like that, but of course it makes sense to change it.

I just use different ones now for Elevate and Elements and everything works alright, so for me this is fixed :-)

I don't know about other theme designers who use the same standard ID, but at least it is documented here now.

Best regards,

Tobias
