Hi,

I would like to share a short comment about Mi Band and Oruxmaps.

It works together, but:

1. You have to use Mi Fit app version 2.x, that has a special running mode.

2. In the app, you have to set the band to "discoverable" mode (in the "Play" tab)

3. Then you have to start the running mode (the icon in the upper left corner in the "Status" tab).

4. In the running mode settings, you have to have "Monitor heart rate" turned on.

5. I also use "Paused", I think it does not add new activities to My Fit in this way. I am not sure.

6. Back from settings, press "Start running" and hold "Hold to pause". It stops tracking, but the heart rate is still visible to Oruxmaps.

In Oruxmaps, use Global settings -> Sensors -> Heart Monitor -> Bluetooth Smart, BT Smart device

Don't forget to start HRM in the recording menu, it is not started automatically when recording a track.

I just want to clarify another thing : As of today. the MI FIT app on Google Play doesn`t have running mode. (the icon in the upper left corner)

You need to install the Chinese version : http://m.app.mi.com/download/68548">//http://m.app.mi.com/download/68548

Not to worry, everything is in English, except annoying voice explanation every once in a while.

It would be great if Orux could simply get the band start working, without having to start it with MI FIT :-)

I have checked the Google Play version of Mi Fit and if you want to use the running mode, you have to create a special shortcut for it with e.g. this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ex.chinyang.android.xshortcut&hl=cs">https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... tcut&hl=cs">https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ex.chinyang.android.xshortcut&hl=cs

App shortcut -> More activities (instead of Main activity) -> Mi Fit -> cn.com.smartdevices.bracelet.gps.ui.RunningMainActivity

Then you have to start the Mi Fit through this shortcut

Hi,

that's really nice, my "Xiaomi Mi Band 1S" just arrived a few days ago, directly from China.

Using the official "Mi Fit" app 2.0.0 from GooglePlay.

And created a shortcut to start Mi Fit in running mode, as described by drfie above, i just use a differenent app:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut">//https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut

I can record now my heartrate within OruxMaps, in addition to my normal gps track recording, interesting stats.

 :D

During the next days, i will have a closer look how long the battery of the Mi Band lasts.

First test indicates, that battery of the band is losing 10% during a 2h bike ride with continously pulse rate measurement.

Thanks to drfie!

Did you maybe test the accuracy of the band vs some "blood pressure monitor"?  :D

Where did you buy it?

I compared it with a "blood pressure monitor" for home-use, one which you wrap around wrist & press button, then it blows-up and releases air again.... variance to the "Xiaomi Mi Band 1S" was +/- 5

Ordered at GearBest: 22. April; arrived in Germany: 7. May

Price was 14,78€ for "Xiaomi Mi Band 1S" and one additional "Rubber Watch Band Strap"

Cool got mine. At the start of the "workout"  :D, I got some like bluetooth disconnects, but then it stopped doing those and logged the data nicely. Do I need to  pair the device also in the android bluetooth settings or just in the xiaomi app like i did. Also that running mode seem to require GPS turned on to start.

I used Oruxmaps beta, since it has some cool features for my android wear watch :) (like map and stuff :))

Just an update, in case someone searches in the forum...

In the meantime also the official MiFit app (2.2.7) from the Google Playstore has the running mode (little runner icon in the upper left corner). No need to create the shortcut anymore.

yes. MiBand 1S, MiFit 2.2.12 (as of today 3rd Feb 2017), OruxMaps 6.5.10 or 7.0.0rc6

Sometimes i need several (2-4) "Start HRM" attempts in OruxMaps until connected to the MiBand 1S, but then the heart rate is shown in the dashbord...
