Offline maps are displayed.

See track and see offline map  :!:

Ok.

I still got only None, Normal, Satellite, Terrain and Hybrid (all google) as option for the map type.  :?:

What version of orux you are nunning?

I have the 6.5.9 installed.

 :)

I think he only means that with no internet you get no map  :D.

Btw orux made a new version (beta3) in which he said that he added ambient mode support in the "numbers" pages, also he added support for displaying waypoints....But I tried it and none of those features work, I get same features as in previous version + my heartrate sensor doesn't work in latest beta (miband 1s - it worked in beta1, in beta2 it didn't also).

How do I use offline maps? I use oruxmaps 6.5.8b3 and have found no way how to do it.

I bought a Sony Smartwatch 3 and am pretty elated how well it works with oruxmaps. My primary use is for following a route on hiking trips. I have only tested it once on a short trip so far but it worked really well (but I had internet connection all the time).

I have 6.5.9 Google play store.

Offline or online maps are displayed on my watch.

(Unless the offline map is loaded from cache.)

But I can't see my track or my waypoints loaded and displayed on my tablet.

May be an user error.

addendum 1

The track only appears when the route is followed.

I recommend to take map: NONE

The contrast is optimal 8-)

addendum 2

The Waypoint does not appears.

Not even if I follow him.

Can you make a screenshot?

(AndroidWear App on you phone: "the three dots in the upper right hand corner" --> "Take wearable-screenshot" ("Wearable-screenshot erstellen))

And what map type did you choose on the watch to display offline maps? None, Normal, Satellite, Terrain and Hybrid?

Do you display google offline maps or also OSM, IGN, ... ?

It would be awesome if the watch could display offline maps.

Thanks

Hello;

It is not possible, because the wear app uses google maps engine (only online maps).

If you don't see the wearable app correctly, I think that there are interferences if you are using both google play and beta version.

Thanks for the clarification.

That is what I thought, that you using an existing engine provided by google. :)

My wear app works fine. Using it more and more.

I'm just back from one week Pyrenees using Orux intensively.

Best App  :D

But!

The last picture could not be, because the offline map is not completely captured in this area.

But!

I was completely offline. No Wifi, no GPRS!

I have wiped and wiped and wiped.

Europe was present. Not in detail. But as an overview.

Where is the cache?

Can you try it again, empty cache for Maps first

Settings --> Apps --> Maps -->  Memory (Speicher) --> Empty Cache (Cache leeren)

Thanks

Offline: Wifi and data

Global Settings -> Maps -> Reset online cache -> ALL

==> There is no google map in the overwiew

Display is my offline map 'Rheinland-Pfalz'

Start app wear

Settings Map Normal

Map -> There is a map diplayed.

Europe still has a good level of detail. America is only available in an overview. The ROW is not available.

addendum

I turned off the smartphone (tablet) and restart the smartwatch.

The map on the smartwatch is still displayed.

In the area where I have already been online the street names are displayed.

In the other areas only motorways and major highways.

The card must be therefore stored in the watch.

Interesting.

I have to test this also.

Would be nice to know, from which cache google takes the map when offline.  ;)

@orux: Is or will there be a other engine besides google maps to display maps in android wear?

Maybe:

/sdcard2/andnav2

Here I find always tiles,  I don't know who creates this.

Does this latest beta bring any fixes for Android Wear - for example displaying WPs? Or ambient mode in stats display? Since these features doesn't work in earlier versions.

Google Maps!

The tiles are provided ONLINE.

OFFLINE probably goes just like Google Maps OFFLINE save.

Perhaps there are also (Google Maps) the Tiles and Oruxmaps makes use only of these.

As a freeloader.

Try me out.

Select uncharted territory - - Google Maps store and 'go' with Oruxmaps.

Let's see what I see.

Test result!

Oruxmaps (Tablet / Smarty) is NOT active.

(1) I am in an unknown city.

There is blurred everything.

Offline: Nothing happens

Online: After a while, the tiles are loaded.

Loading map!

(2a) I start Google Maps (online) on the tablet / smarty and 'wipe' to unknown destination.

The map is because online, saved and loaded.

OFFLINE turn now everything off: Wifi and UMTS

(2b) I start Oruxmaps Wear app -> Map

And wipe to the target point.

Simsalabim: The card is given exactly again. Base: Tiles of Google Maps on your tablet or smarty.

Oruxmaps (Tablet / Smarty) thus has NOTHING to do!

I can't confirm that.  ;)

I also downloaded a certain area on google maps as offline map.

But it does not really covers the same area which is offline presented by the orux wear extension. It really confuses me.  :?

It would be nice if the google maps engine on android wear would use google maps offline maps.

Especially because google just introduced  the "WIFI only" option for maps.

 ;)
