Hi,
I have been using Oruxmaps for years and bought a donate version. Recently, I realized that my different Android devices have problems to render maps. I downloaded these maps many years ago (source is not existing anymore) and compressed image files in the webp format. I have very large area covered by different layers and the whole collection takes >11 GB of data. The problem is that Orux opens some layers but doesn´t show the map nor it reports an error. I could collect these observations:

- map layers can be opened in an old Android phone with small memory (Vodafone smart ultra 6). Though this phone renderes these maps very slowly, it does it well
- The same map layers can´t be opened on quite powerful phone Samsung Galaxy S9 plus at all. But no error pops up. Maps are simply not rendered
- I am sure that data are not corrupted, I copied the same dataset between devices and the outcome was the same
- I noticed that the rendering was very slow some time ago, when SGS9 could still render these maps. Annoying was that when the screen went off and on again, maps were rendered very slowly again every time.

I would be grateful if you can look into the problem. I can provide some map layers if necessary, but the file can be around 1 GB in size

Thank you very much,

David

if you have the ability to convert the maps from raster to vector (mapforge v4), it will be a nice move on

I do not think it is a good idea to convert raster images to vectors considering the complexity of graphics. And... Original maps  I downloaded years ago are not available anymore.

But the problem is simple. Orux was able to open these maps before, but struggles now. It must be a bug

There was a problem related to map shadows.

If you see that your maps are rendered slow, check first if you have enabled map shadows. Then try again without them,
