Hi Orux,

Thank's for your work on oruxmaps.

I have a suggest and an issue around no-go :

Is it possible to draw a circle to show the no-go zone ?

When a no-go is set, it is possible to set weird path like show in attached image.

Thank's, Franck.
Hello!
Yes, I will add a circle aroud the no-go points.
About they behaviour when you select points inside a no-go zone, it is not clear what brouter sends as a route,...

Hello Orux,
I found an issue with the new road types/surfaces feature:
When you create a route with Brouter and extend it by hand, OruxMaps crashes when you click on the track and open the statistics.

And one question:
When I use the Brouter profile 'shortest.brf' (which is the standard profile for foot shortest/fastest) I get information about the track type but not about the surface - it's all unclassified, although the surface information exists in the OSM database and is shown with other profiles. Is this an Oruxmaps issue or does this behavior depend on the profile?

Regards

Hello!
Thanks,

you are right, about the bug.
About the shortest profile, I can see information about surface in my searches. You can see the information that the app receives from brouter (in the way 'highway=track surface=alphalt...') in the segment description, when you tap the segment,

Hi Orux,
I've tested scoped storage with an Android 11 device.
As I can only choose internal OR external private folder right now, are these the only options with scoped storage - or would it be possible to set some folders like maps to external, and tracks to internal?
Wouldn't it be possible to have huge files (maps, DEM) in the "download" folder that still should be available to all apps? Even read only would be fine if you manage it with a different app.
Regards,
Tobias

Hello!

It complicates the system a bit, but I could review it (select later individually if some resources are wanted in the external/internal folders).

Any progress here? The latest beta still doesn't allow e.g. having mapsforge themes internal and maps external. This causes themes to be very slow, e.g. when switching themes it's instant internal and takes about 10s external, with a very recent Samsung A52s and A11. Might be slower on different devices.
It makes sense to have themes with little memory usage internal, and maps or dem data on external SD, so it would be great to have options here.

Locus already had the release of the scoped storage version on playstore, and there were many problems for users with this. Further solutions for this app was using zipped themes (and unpacking them for the app internal) and allowing to use android/media on internal and external.

Also adding more backup options would be great, as backup programs can't access the OruxMaps folders anymore - at least adding other files to the Drive backup, like profiles and pictures, and probably others as well.

Hello!
I am working with that stuff.
About the problems of other apps. I imagined this was going to happen. That is why I am waiting for a better solution, which will surely not be a good one at all.

Android/media/ folder is not a solution, because that folder is deprecated in SDK 30. Before long we will have another problem with another data migration...

The only solution seems private storage.

Yes, you will be able to select what goes on the internal and what goes on the SD,s. Although the simplest thing is to put maps and DEM,s on the external, and the rest on the internal, few files have a significant size.

...Or enable both simultaneously (internal and external folder) and the user can put resources when he wants.
Yes, I am thinking in adding new options to the backup system.

Thanks, sounds good to me :-)
Yes, better a well planned permanent solution, even if it takes some time and doesn't solve all problems!

Hello Orux,
I tried it again on MIUI 11/Android 7 and MIUI 12/Android 10 (on this phone with a clean install of Oruxmaps beta 14 and Brouter from the website and from Playstore). On both phones there was no information on the surface both in the segment description and the statistics with Brouter's shortest profile. The other profiles work perfectly.

Hello Orux,
just a thought on the colours for the different surfaces:
Now similar surfaces (e.g. pebblestone, gravel, fine gravel) have very different colours. Maybe it is easier to remember the colours and to recognize the character of a route with groups of similar surfaces each represented by one colour in different shades, e.g.
pebblestone - dark blue
gravel - medium blue
fine gravel - light blue
or
red tones for cobblestone/paving stones/concrete/asphalt ...
Maybe the rougher surfaces could have darker colours than smoother ones.

I really like the option to show the surfaces as it makes it easier to plan routes with buggies, wheelchairs ...

Hello Orux,
I used button Photo Waypoint and created jpg in Pictures directory. It's OK. But when I connect my phone to PC by USB-port  PC explorer demonstrate empty directory(oruxmaps/pictures).
If I copy my jpg-file to another directory, download for example and connect to PC jpg-file become visible in this directory.
By the way, I believe it's more suitable if after snapshot I can stay  in camera program and make other photo

Hello,
When I import  a GPX file into the database the new entry have a strange name. For example "Track_1639850099214".
Before, the new entry had the same name that the  file name:
File name = "2021-12-18 135043.gpx" gave an entry called "2021-12-18 135043".
Is it possible to have this function again?
Regards.

Hello Orux,
The new beta15 solved the problem.
Perfect!
Thank you very much 😊!

v8.5.5beta15
When I start Oruxmaps by selecting a .gps file Oruxmaps start correctly but there is an error "error loading route" and there is no route.
(In "v.8.5.5 GP" Oruxmaps starts correctly and the route is there and loaded correctly.)

Hello, 8.5.5beta 14 solved the problem on Android 7, but in another phone with Android 11 the problem remains:
the new imported track loses its name that becomes "Track_.......
Annoying, especially if you load multiple tracks at the same time

Hereby the .gpx.
Made with Brouter-web. The error is there with all my .gpx. (not in oruxmaps v8.5.5.GP)
I think since v8.5.5.beta 11 or 12.

Hello,
I have downloaded your gpx file.
I import it in my database successfully.

I'm on Oruxmaps 8.5.5 beta15 and Android 11.

Something is going wrong with your smartphone. I'm not a specialist...
You could back up your data base and erase it on Oruxmaps and try to import your gox file in this brand new database.

Regards.
