using this version, i don't have found how to setup a few options

1. the dashboard size
i have set into settings "small" size. But into my 2 smartphones with same horizontal resolution (1080 pixels), there is no same view. Left device has 4 items into 1 row and right device has 4 items into 2 rows

left device has 1080x2160
right device has 1080x2408

2. map rotation icon
is there any option to have into navigation screen / map, one icon to change the map rotation instantly ?

There are two dashboard components sizes, big and small.
The size is relative to the pixel density of the screen. Two devices with the same number of pixels, but different density (pixels per inch) will have different numbers of dashboard elements per line.
You can change the size of the text inside the dashboard controls in the settings.

You can attach different buttons to the right/left button panels. One of them allows you to change the rotation mode

i have wrote that i set at both devices the small fonts. Maybe a solution is to add a new "extra small" option. This could be a possible solution

Are you looking for this?

By pressing the compass, the map returns to North on top
You have to activate in:
Setting Up >Visuals elements  >Multiple UIs>Map rotation indication

no, tronpo

i am looking for a button into the navigation screen like others apps i use - osmand or locus are having that. When we press this button, the user can instantly have access at the 4 options for using the map orientation, without visiting the app settings > map > map orientation
this feature is very useful

thanks lenz for your help

at those screenshots we can see how different is the icon philosophy for map rotation
osmand    https://i.postimg.cc/rsfw9VC0/Clipboard-03-09-2024-01.jpg
locus         https://i.postimg.cc/RZ6Zcz3h/Screenshot-20240309-140854.png

From what I know the method offered by osmand is equivalent to the multifunction button offered by Oruxmaps map orientation.
And with respect to what locus offers with the rotate map button is equivalent to pressing the map rotation indicator in Oruxmaps
Apps offer different ways to do the same thing.
No?

Hi tronpo,
delete the word "professional" and replace it with "power user". If i had the 1/100 % from your experience, I wouldn't ask for help to this forum.

do you believe that you are rookie user? if some one can answer to other people request, definitely he has knowledge and good experience

Thank you, but I still have a lot to learn about Oruxmaps and cartography, I'm sure that sooner or later you will end up teaching me something, if I've learned anything it's that we all have a lot to ask, asking and experimenting is the only thing we can do to improve. A hug friend

Hi,
last years i had test the offline navigation. I had download from the settings of orux the graphhopper files for my country (europe). I had also found the follow link for manual download the same files  >>>>   www.oruxmaps.com/graphhopper
Now, with the last version from playstore - none method is working. I have only found into settings, the ability to add the folder link with graphhopper files. But i haven't the files for europe.

any idea ?

Hello, GraphHopper has stopped supporting its offline data base, and Oruxmaps will stop doing so in the near future.
For offline planning, the Brouter alternative will be maintained
