When following a route on the road or mtb trail and arriving to a point of the route that it's intersecting itself is not possible to choose the correct turn unless you stop the ride, zoom out, check the icon for the next 5km mark, etc. ( following routes without waypoints ofc). Depending of the sport this is an big issue, for example cycling.

Suggestions to fix this:

1. easy solution: Activate the the alarm 'out of course / lejos de la ruta) when the route is not strictly followed, that would be easy to implement based on a variation of the the remaining kilometers of the route, since some jump should be easily detected.

2. greater feature: to use a different color / thicker route follow line for those segments that intersecting itself directly ahead, and place a few directional arrows maybe. For the routes or segments not intersecting/overlapping itself not necessary to highlight nothing.

Here and old discussion when Garmin was not having this implemented yet but Suunto does it: https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-6-series/191773/why-is-it-so-hard-to-follow-a-self-crossing-course?pifragment-1292=4#pifragment-1292=5

Hello, in track visuals, you can set the track direction to be shown with arrows.

Hi Trompo, yes I'm having the small arrows always visible (and colors) but still it's confusing during a ride when they overlap/intersect each-other. A thicker line or bigger arrows in that intersections would really help during a ride, when you are checking the road and screen map at the same time.

But in any case, I would recommend adding the option to trigger the alarm if a route is not strictly followed due to an incorrect overlapping turn.
