I want to use my external gps (Holux RCV3000) via bluetooth.

I tried to configure it without success.

The device is seen by OruxMaps, but no data comes in.

I read that a new option should appear in the track menu to activate it once the device is paired.

Did someone succeed on this?

Hello,

after configuring the external device, you have to click 'start BT GPS'. Then wait, remember that a cold start with those deviced might be slow.

Thanks for your reply...

Where the "Start BT GPS" button is located?

Under 'start GPS option'. In the upper buttons bar (actions bar), 'Tracks' option.

I didn't find a way to enable BT GPS.

In this video a repro of what I have done.

On the second part (1'02")I succesfully use BT GPS with another app (SW maps)

Hello;

that button is for the internal GPS.

Two options:

1.-add the 'Start BT GPS' button to the lateral button bar: go so settings-->user interface-->buttons-->buttons bar. Then add the new button to right/left buttons bar.

2.-Action bar (upper buttons bar): The first-left button (Tracks), there is an option:

Hello;

An external antenna usually has a slower start; mine can take several minutes, and indoors it does not receive a signal.

Have you checked that you are receiving GPS positioning?

Do you see a message 'Bluetooth connection closed' after you click the stop the GPS button?

Yes, when disabling GPS BT I got the message.

When I try with "SW Maps" app everything work fine and data comes in almost immediately.

How can I verify

"Have you checked that you are receiving GPS positioning? "

The cursor usually move to gps position in oruxmaps, in this case it didn't

Yes, my old zaapa BT GPS is working fine, after 1/2 minutes, GPS positioning is received.

If you receive that message is because the app is connected with the external GPS.

May be a problem with the NMEA protocol. Could you record a NMEA log and send it to me?

Today I'm hiking and I discovered that also normal gps isn't sending position info to oruxmaps. Other apps are working fine. I should have screwed up things. I deleted data and now phone gps is working fine. This evening I'll try with bt gps... If it keeps not working I'll send you a NMEA log

It works!

BT connection is working perfectly with my Holux RCV-3000.

So the problem was that I didn't know that I have to enable the button to activate the bluetooth connection.

Fiddling with settings to solve the problem screwed up things but after a "clear data" everything is working fine.

Thanks for helping me to sort out the problem!

I've done some recordings via BT GPS. I think that no DOP values are used by OruxMaps because no circle is drawn around the cursor.

How can I give you NMEA data sent via BT?

The nmea downloaded from Holux device is https://drive.google.com/file/d/1atlMa7G331rW1xLvUV8W_da-PVJO_nDN/view?usp=sharing">//https://drive.google.com/file/d/1atlMa7G331rW1xLvUV8W_da-PVJO_nDN/view?usp=sharing
