COMENTARIOS/COMMENTS / Re: ANT+ power sensor
January 22, 2016, 09:54:13 PM
Hi Orux, in a few days I'm going to buy an ant+ power meter, I already did some testing and the power data are showed correctly, but without the rolling averages (3, 5, 10, 30 seconds window) data fields, as in the garmin units, it's almost impossible to use oruxmaps with a power meter because the power data in inherently too jumpy.

Thank you again for this amazing app :!:  and please consider adding these data fields. Thanks

ERRORES/BUGS / Re: ANT+ Sensor
August 10, 2015, 10:02:47 AM
Quote from: "JuergenCGN"Hello,

I love the program and use ist often.

That's why I bought an ANT+ sensor from Sigma Sport for the speed. The sensor is also recognized in the automatic search and a blue bar moves (but only max. 10% of the total) and I do not know how I can incorporate the sensor because the tap nothing happens!

So I entered the device ID manually at the ant+ speedometer. But when viewing it remains at "- - -"! For a test I have the GPS turned off and still had a speed display in the main window ?! Can it be, that the ANT+ display not used for the ANT+ sensor ??

Did you chose to display the "ant+speed" instead of the "speed" field?

MEJORAS/NEW FEATURES / share as -> send mail menu
June 12, 2015, 08:57:26 AM
Hi orux, when selecting "share as -> gpx", the phone takes a while (depending on the track length) to generate the gpx file and then a "send mail" menu shows up [where I can select whether to use gmail or Bluetooth or whatsapp (??)]. But if oruxmaps loses focus, because another app sends a notification or sometimes even if the screen gets locked, the "send mail" menu disappear and I'm forced to repeat the procedure starting from "share as -> gpx" and I must wait again for the creation of the gpx file (and for a 6 hours ride it's a long wait).

So, what I'm asking is: is there already a solution that I don't know about  ? Or else, could you create an option to select the default mail sender, in order to bypass completely the "send mail" list/menu? Or could you avoid the re-creation of the gpx file if the "share as gpx" procedure is restarted after it's interrupted?

Tanks!

GENERAL / Re: Temperature info in track

Quote from: "JanickGers"Hi Orux, thanks for your response.

So no plans for implementing this feature? Even with an alert like "Using the internal temp sensor of your phone could lead to inaccurate readings, you are advised"?

I found out that temp readings of my phone are pretty accurate if you don't keep it in your pocket.

+1

Consider that every garmin edge unit with an internal sensor logs the temperature into the file.

I practice mountain bike and my phone is exposed to rain and sweat: I want to have the view of oruxmap in real time but the screen with touch disable (raindrops and sweat generate unwanted commands on the screen)

There is a remedy?

Thanks

released rc3 version;

It should solve last bugs,

Hi orux, maybe I found a problem and bug:

-if cadence=0 it's not written in the gpx, while in the 6.0 version there was an explicit cadence=0 in the gpx. Is it intentional? both sporttracks and golden cheetah don't like this behaviour.

-when cadence=0 and speed>0 (coasting downhill), speed is not written in the gpx, also if at that time the correct ant+ speed was displayed on the phone.

thanks.

Hi,  Thanks!

I was waiting the test of those sensors.

I will try to add the controls you tell,

I think I'll hide the possibility of adjusting the sensor from OruxMaps; I think all these devices have some own tools to do so,

orux

Hi, I think most powermeters don't have a dedicated tool, usually they are configured from a garmin headunit.

Thank you again for the great work you put in this app

That sounds very interesting.

So far I have not decided which one to buy. Would you be so kind and tell me a bit about the hardware here or elsewhere?

Uli

Hi, the one I tried is a power2max, but it was just for a few minutes. The owner says it works great.

Speaking in general it's an extremely broad subject, different needs lead to very different advice..

Anyway, the best guide is, of course, from the always accurate dcrainmaker blog:

Hi, I briefly tried to use an ant+ power sensor, it worked without issues. I couldn't try to use the sensor settings (the sensor/bike wasn't mine), maybe next time.

As for the power data field, in addition to the instantaneous power it would be good to have a 3s 5s 10s and 30 seconds averaged power fields (usually a rolling average updated every second) as garmin does.

These average are needed because power data is extremely jumpy and usually cyclists choose to show the 3/5s and the 30s fields at the same time to have a decent understanding of fast and slow power trend. Usually the instantaneous power is used just for troubleshooting.

Thanks

GENERAL / Re: Traduzione italiana
November 30, 2014, 11:10:02 AM
Quote from: "Maki"Dunque, la versione nuova è uscita.

Bravo, bel lavoro!

Hi Orux, I'm using the beta and the "new segment" button is perfect and very useful... but I'm here with another request  : could you add the new segment button also in the TC-1 view? I would love it to be next to the start/stop recording button.

Thank you again.
