What is difference between load track and load track as overlay?

After I import a gpx file, I can select one or more tracks and then choose:
    1. Load them in the map viewer...
    2. Load them as a map overlay...

What is the difference between these two options?

What is the difference between these two options?

In the first case it is loaded as a route. This means that you can, for example, start following it and oruxmaps will notify you if you deviate from it.

In the second case it is simply displayed over the map.
