Sorry for the delay.

We're going to resume beta testing before the Google Play version update, to see if Google will let me.

This version is a preview of the next one to be released on Google Play.

What's new:
--> Added a richtext editor to include rich text in waypoint and track descriptions.
--> Organize segments/lines/polygons into internal folders, in a tree-like manner. Similar to the 'folders' in KML files.
--> New features (not for everyone) to support search and rescue teams.
The manuals:
https://oruxmaps.org/sar_es.pdf
https://oruxmaps.org/sar_en.pdf

This feature is enabled in Settings > Search and Rescue Tools. If anyone is interested in this type of tools, please contact me!

nice to see you back, Jose 🙂

Welcome back @orux :) You've been missed already and concerns have raised because of your long absence. Hope you're fine. Just in case this whole project is getting too much for you, don't hesitate to ask for help - you're not alone. I'm sure it's possible to find several developers who could assist you when needed.

Regarding the new feature for search and rescue teams:
Probably the "alpine clubs" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_alpine_clubs are a good place to go. Maybe we users of this forum could contact the local alpine club of our country / region and ask if this is something they would like to test / use?

Thanks for your great work Jose, and all the best for you and your family.

Hello orux !! The organization of files in a tree is really useful and necessary.
I see that it fails in the mass modification or am I not understanding it well ?

It would be very interesting if you could apply something similar to virtual folders, such as being able to organize subfolders within folders, and even beyond that the same track can belong to several virtual folders, this is a long-time trend of users.
I mean without having to duplicate the tracks so that they are in different folders.

We continue to move forward!!

PD : The waypoint manager does not include the tree organization in the bulk modification.

Hello orux !! The weather forecast needs better contrast between the background and the text to improve visibility.

A good advance to be able to configure the time interval in the forecast, and even better to be able to make the query in any location on the map.

Best regards

Hello,
I've discovered other new features which are both interesting and useful:

  • map tools - highest/ lowest altitude points (imho the centre and the radius should also be shown on the map)
  • overlay options - show lat/lon grid
  • weather forecast now useses the open meteo api. Now the forecast is not limited to the current position.

@Orux
In dark mode the text of the weather forecast is very difficult to read, especially for the brightest hours. Maybe you could change the background or the text color as it was in previous versions. (Tronpo was faster than me once again!)

As always: thanks for your great work!

according to show lat/lon there is a minor discrepancy in menu where text in command line is not switched between show/hide.

The menu says 'show lat/lon grid' even when the grid is already shown instead of 'hide ...' (like the other grids).
