Post by: orux on May 11, 2022, 03:34:31 AM

9.0.4beta7:
--minor changes
--bug fixes

9.0.4beta6:
--bug fixes

9.0.4beta5:
--bug fixes

9.0.4beta4:
--bug fixes

9.0.4beta3:
--bug fixes

9.0.4beta2:
--bug fixes
--route search with brouter/graphhopper offline. Now you can change the profile during route search and add segments with different profiles.

9.0.4beta1:
--custom track types (when you create a track, and select the typoe, there a new option to create your own types)
--select folders inside main folders inside private storage. If you migrated all your data to the app privvate folders, now you can use different folders, for example with dem files.
--hdr files, suppor to overlaped files. If the elevation is not available in a file, it will try to find that data in other hdr files.
--add custom datums. Configuration-->maps-->Datums manager.

9.0.1beta1 allows me again to load a *.gpx, which is stored on GoogleDrive or Dropbox.
But an *.gpx, which i have in a WhatsApp chat, still leads to an "Error loading route!" message.

Import .gpx from WhatsApp does not work (It worked in previous versions). So I use this little trick:

manage tracks - import new tracks - gpx/kml/... - browse in:
yourphone/Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp/Media/WhatsApp Document/Private (if you received the .gpx or Sent if you sent)
and then tap the desired .gpx

It is a long way, but it works. ;D

Hello!

The new version 9.0 is in progressive release, but there are some complex bugs to solve, that's why I'm launching this beta, to see if I catch them.

Update to beta1 (9.0.2 vers.):
-->Let's see if we solve the problem with tracks shared by Whatsapp!

-->Fix problem with heart rate data in gpx/tcx

Update to beta2:
-->Fix problem when importing orux_intents
-->Fix problem openning images from remote folders using Map calibrator tool.

Hello , a little thing with 9.0.2beta3:
when I import  a GPX file into the database the new entry has a strange name. For example "Track_1639850099214".

Before, the new entry had the same name that the  imported file:
File name = "abcd.gpx" gave an entry called "abcd".
Is it possible to have this function again?
ps:I remember the same problem with 8.5.x, then solved...

Same for me on 9.0.2 GP:
I import a *.gpx, which i have previously downloaded from http://www.outdooractive.com
And it shows in in the track DB as "Track_<EPOCH Timestamp of the time i imported it>"
In previous versions the name in the db was corresponding to the name-tag within the gpx file (metadata?), or the filename itself? Not sure..

EDIT: i just noticed, if i put the "abcd.gpx" file into the tracklogs directory of OruxMaps and then import that gpx from within OruxMaps, it adds it to the DB named as "abcd".
But if i navigate to any other directory, e.g. "Downloads"or somewhere at GoogleDrive, and import from there, i have the name as "Track_<EPOCH Timestamp of the time i imported it>"

EDIT2: The behaviour seems to be related to the Android version? What i described above happens on my Android11 phone. On my older Android 6 phone all imported *.gpx show up in the DB with a name that correspond to the filename, independent from the directory i imported it from.

Hello,
In a previous version I had the problem.
In this 9.0.2beta3 no problem for me.
The GPX file keeps the name structure when it is imported in the database.

Yesterday I upgraded to 9.0.2 GP after my Samsung XCover 5 upgraded to Android 11.
I used the data migration to the Android/data/... folder on my SD-Card.
Maps and themes were copied and can be used.

Tracks werde copied (I can see that by connecting with my PC via USB).
But the maps do not show up in oruxmaps, even after hitting the renew button.
Any suggestions?

added:
My tracks used to be in a seperated folder on the sd-card /orux/tracks, they were copied during the migration.
I used X-Plore file manager to access one of the tracks in the old folder, it was opened by oruxmaps, this track appeared as a route in oruxmaps and now is the only file appearing in "Tracks verwalten".

I confirm the problem with Android 11. On an other phone with Android 7 the .gpx is imported maintaining its corret name.
This happens with all the *.gpx files downloaded from outdoor web site o made by oruxmaps 9.0.2 beta3 itself.

New beta update.
About track name problem, the app first tries to put the name included inside the gpx. If it doesn't have a name, it tries to put the name of the file. But with the file browsers of the operating system itself, it is possible that the app does not receive the name of the file, only a stream (the content of the file) is when the generic name Track_timestamp is used.

Hello Orux,

in my case, also the last 9.0.3 Beta1 has problem of gpx renaming to Track_xxxxx.gpx in tracklog folder.
Any GPX I open from any "source" is then copied in tracklog folder with such a "useless" renaming.
And worse, if I repone the same track later, a new Track_xxxx.gpx file is created: so now I have several Track_xxxx.gpx of the exactly same GPX in tracklog folder!!!

Other small issue, I do not have anymore automatic association between GPX file type and OruxMaps application. I have all the time to search and select for OruxMaps to open that.

I am using a Huawei Nova 5T, with Android 10.

Regards
Andrea

Hi Orux,
When I save a tracklog generated with BRouter, there are several beacons trkseg in gpx generated.
Is there a method to don't generate theses intermediary beacons ?
In menu tracklogs, all values are set to 0.
I try with huge value but there is always intermediary beacons.
Is there a trick I miss?

Hello Orux,
When you edit a track in the data base, the type is changing. If you don't save your track, the track type stays ok. But if you save it, the type is modified.
For information the type changes for the following choice in the list.
Can you have a look to this issue?

About new 9.0.4 beta 1

Hello Orux,
this new beta still has the problem of renaming Track_XXXX.gpx any GPX I open and even to duplicate it any time I re-open.

However, at least this beta has the correct App automatic association of .gpx files. Now these files open directly into the app.

Hola!!

Now the app has no access to the files; the apps that share one with OruxMaps do not send a link to the file, they send the content, with certain metadata (extension, type,...). That's why the app copies it to the tracks folder, to work with it.

The app creates this file if the app that sends the gpx to OruxMaps does not specify the name of the file, only the content. Have you tried opening the gpx with another manager, from Drive,...?

Hello Orux, I have both problems even if the source GPX file is in the tracklogs folder

Each time I open a GPX (even from the oruxmaps tracklog folder), the app association does not work (I have to manually select oruxmaps app for opening) and a new Track_xxx.gpx file is created.

And this happens again also reopening the same GPX file more times... New Track_xxx.gpx are created...

Hello!
Sorry, but with Android 10 the migration to the private folders is not done, and when you select in OruxMaps to load a gpx/kml, the app uses its own file browser. There should be no problem opening files from any location.
Maybe you can send me a video about what we are talking about,

When I save a tracklog generated with BRouter, there are several beacons "trkseg" in gpx generated.
Is there a method to don't generate theses intermediary beacons ?
In menu tracklogs, all values are set to 0.
I try with huge value but there is always intermediary beacons.
Is there a trick I miss?

I have added an option that asks before exporting a track/route if you want to join the segments (when this is possible). Added in the latest beta.

Hi Orux,
It's works in latest version, thank's.
Would it be possible to put this option in tracklog configuration so you don't have to do it every time ?

QuoteAnother question: Is there a possibility to hide the navigation floating button in the unified interface? The option in user interface - buttons - navigation floating button has no effect in unified interface - the button is always shown (independent from the profiles).

This is still the behavior in v.9.0.4beta7

when we save a gpx file, the application write a very long name, with 2 times the date and the time. What does this help the user ?

one example is this : 2022-06-18 210520__20220618_2105.gpx

i belive that this could be OK : 2022-06-18 210520.gpx
or this 20220618_210520.gpx

Hi Orux,
Observed in version 9.0.3 GP (donate), and in all 9.X. beta version:
1. AVG Cadence incorrect (as if counting the total driving time, not just movement).
2. Exodus and sunset is often not displayed in the recording mode of the route.
3. How to turn off the message "Tap The Artificial Horizont to Set Roll/Pitch. Long Press to Reset", because it creates problems in the mode of recording route.

Hello,
For m'y part, when I export a track in GPX format this is the date and time of the exportation that is used. It's a little bit annoying.
Is it possible to have the date and time of the departure of the track (as before I think).

settings / user interface / cursor
the first option says "Gps Cursor icon". maybe it must change the Gps to GPS

into every submenu, on the top says "Oruxmaps GP". I think it will be nice if it says the full path of the setting path we are. For example "settings / user interface / cursor"

I have made some tests.

For example, for a track started at 06:29:09 on 2022-06-19, if I save it on 2022-06-20 at 18:31:59 the obaitened file name is like this:
2022-06-20 18:31:59 (date and time of the exportation).
Cann you tell me if it's a desired situation?

In attached files you can find the exported gpx file and a screenshot of the track in the database.

Hello,

I found why the file format is wrong. In fact when I export my track in GPX file Oruxmaps ask me a question : "Joint the track segments if possible?".

Can you tell me where is the option to remove this question? Or, better solution, can you solve this issue by using the track date?

Important:

Is there an option somewhere to remove this?

Another request by the same user is, to activate/deactivate this function in the settings, so that the popup does not appear each time you export a track. Until now there is no way to suppress this popup.

Hi, when completing the pdf manual, it would be useful to add details on the various track altitude corrections and altitude algorithm (threshold /point to point).
For ascending sport track altitude is very important and I think it is usefull and interesting to understand the great work behind this software functions  ::)

I'm a little bit annoyed by a little thing about Oruxmaps.
The scale on the left bottom of the screen is cut by the rounded corner of my smartphone.
Is it possible for you M. Oruxmaps to have the number on the right of the red bar?
Perhaps there's another solution...
